National Trust for Scotland: Killiecrankie
The Visitor Centre lies on the east side of the Pass of Killiecrankie, a magnificent wooded gorge with the River Garry flowing along its base. The Battle of Killiecrankie, the major event in the first of the Jacobite uprisings, was fought nearby. The Visitor Centre tells both the story of the rich natural history of the Pass and the story of the battle. Site: all year, daily. Visitor Centre: 23 Mar to 31 Oct daily 10-5.30.
