Festivals & Heritage

Descend the Roman street level, and you can explore the Roman marketplace, look inside recreated Roman rooms, and discover amazing finds including a hoard of hidden treasure. Marvel at the mosaic floors, learn about the hypocaust (under floor heating system), see rare cavalry horse-harness fittings (one of only two sets in the world) and be amazed by collections of intricate Roman glass flasks and bottles, jewellery and a silver spoon hoard.

You can even play archaeologist and handle, sort and classify real Roman pottery fragments and other objects relating to Roman everyday life.
