The thatched, timber-framed house is in an idyllic setting, with views across the River Cuckmere, and surrounded by a delightful, tranquil cottage garden featuring a magnificent Judas tree. Wealden 'hall house' was the first building to be acquired by the National Trust, in 1896. Closed Thursday and Friday, except 29 Jul–30 Aug when closed Thursday. Gift Aid Admission (Standard Admission prices in brackets): £5.15 (£4.65), child £2.60 (£2.35), family £12.90 (£11.65). Groups (15+) £3.95, child £2. Guided tour £1.50 extra (including members).
