The palatial 19th century mansion of Witley Court, surrounded by magnificent landscaped gardens makes a great day out in Worcestershire. William Andrews Nesfield, was commissioned to transform the estate. South Parterre features a great Perseus and Andromeda fountain, which makes a noise like an express train when operating, as well as elegantly constructed gardens with clipped evergreens and shrubs. Nearby is Great Witley Church, with its amazing Italianate Baroque interior. This church is not managed by English Heritage, but remains active to church to this day. The church has a tearoom, while Witley Court has a superb gift shop. http://www.greatwitleychurch.org.uk/
