Festivals & Heritage

A blast from the past. Moira is a genuine 19th century, coke-fuelled, steam-engine blown blast furnace that was used for the smelting of iron from local iron ore. Now open to the public, and you can discover the history of iron-making though the displays. You can also enjoy canal boat and barge trips; explore the craft village and the country park. Children will love the play area.

The Hub Café offers hot and cold food, and drinks. The café is open daily 10am until 4pm in the winter and 10am until 5pm in the summer (closed on Mondays).
