Festivals & Heritage

The highest point on the Edge was originally a Bronze Age burial mound, and was later used as a fire beacon site, lit as a signal to warn of invasion. Walk along the dramatic red sandstone escarpment of Alderley Edge - see the views over the Cheshire Plain to the Peak District. You can explore woodland paths or walk to neighbouring Hare Hill Garden.
