Music & Nightlife

The Gilbert and Sullivan Festival celebrates the musical legacy of Arthur S. Sullivan and William S.Gilbert, with performances of their best loved works including, the Mikado, the Pirates of Penzance, HMS Pinafore, Iolanthe and more.

At the core of the Festival is a competition of amateur Gilbert & Sullivan societies who compete for the prestigious title of “International Champions” along with a host of other individual awards. A professional adjudicator critiques and scores each amateur performance immediately after the curtain falls. The Gilbert & Sullivan Festival is fun and it’s friendly and visitors return to the festival year after year to soak up its special magical atmosphere. So if you ‘know the kings of England, and can quote the fights historical’ this is just the place to be.
