Festivals & Heritage

Three terrific events rolled into one, you can enjoy the English National Sheepdog Trials, a traditional Devon country fayre and a chance to explore the beautiful gardens of Castle Hill.

The sheepdog trial will pit the best sheepdog handlers against each other for the title of English National Sheepdog champion. The Fayre boasts traditional entertainment in the show rings, local food and drink, handicrafts galore, demonstrations of country skills and plenty of shopping. And you should a have time to explore the gardens of Castle Hill. The beautiful gardens are a haven for those seeking a little peace and tranquillity. Explore the Millennium Garden, designed by Chelsea gold medal winner Xa Tollemache, walk the tree-lined avenues, see the walled vegetable garden and an arboretum. Children will love exploring the new adventure trail too.
