Guinness World Record Attempt
The Camping and Caravanning Club celebrated National Camping and Caravanning Week 2012 and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee by pitching up and setting a new Guinness World Record!
We achieved the new World Record for the most people wearing paper crowns in 24 hours (multiple venues) – setting the standard at a spectacular 14,621 crowns! A record of this nature and scale has never been attempted before in the world!
On the day, Guinness World Records zones were set up on the majority of the Club’s 110 award-winning campsites and 20 Camping in the Forest sites.
Unique paper crowns were provided with many campers really getting into the Jubilee spirit by dressing in full royal attire to mark the occasion!
The attempt was run during National Camping and Caravanning Week which is now into its 12th year and celebrates the nation’s growing love of camping, caravanning and the great outdoors.
Congratulations to all those that took part.
