Club Sees Surge in Online Campsite Bookings

With the Easter Bank Holiday weekend just around the corner, and the weather looking very promising, The Camping and Caravanning Club continues to provide the perfect alternative to holidaying abroad.

And it seems holidaymakers agree if recent booking figures are anything to go by, as the Club has seen a 26 per cent increase in advance bookings made via the Club’s website (www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk) compared to last year.

With 110 award-winning Club Sites, 16 Camping in the Forest Sites and over 1,600 small and exclusive Certificated Sites to choose from, camping and caravanning is the best way to explore the beautiful British countryside.

The Club has made it even easier for holidaymakers to decide where they’d like to visit, by offering campsite videos, which have each been filmed at popular destinations across the UK. More information can be found on the Club’s YouTube channel: www.youtube.com/thefriendlyclub

Campers also have the option to use the Club’s handy SiteSeeker app, which will enable them to easily find the site of their choice. The smartphone application is available on iOS and Android devices and allows holidaymakers to search for Camping and Caravanning Club Sites and Camping in the Forest Sites based on their current location, geographical region and site type or name.

Bob Hill, Stes Director at the Club, is looking forward to the new camping season and said: “Our booking figures tell us that camping and caravanning continues to be a popular pastime and we only expect to see numbers rise over the upcoming camping season.

“Compared with 2013 prices, base adult prices will be lower at 38 Club Sites in high season and 56 Club Sites in low season, even after inflation. Base family rates will also be lower at 18 Club Sites in high season and more than 30 in mid-season.”

“We hope this will encourage more people to join the Club, enjoy our sites and their nearby attractions – which will only help to boost local economies.”
