Club Strengthens Core Camping Offer
The Camping and Caravanning Club has increased its campsite pitch offering by 50 per cent after officially forming a new partnership with the Forestry Commission called Camping in the Forest.
Camping in the Forest will provide both members and non-members with a truly authentic back to nature camping experience at 20 stunning locations in England, Scotland and Wales including within the unspoilt woodlands of the Forest of Dean and the New Forest.
There is something for everyone; whether people want to escape the rigours of everyday life or just sample fantastic onsite facilities amongst the leafy surroundings of the Forestry Commission – campers, caravanners or motorhomers can do as much or as little as they like.
The Club’s Director General Robert Louden said: “This new partnership gives us 50 per cent more pitches (5,500) to offer to our holiday makers, and our 550,000 adult members, who love the freedom and back-to-nature experience of camping in the great outdoors.
“Over the last few years, we have invested significantly in developing the camping side of this business, and now we plan to invest and grow it for the future.
“Most of all, we’re looking forward to giving campers the very best way to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, in beautiful Camping in the Forest locations.”
The sites formerly operated under the brand of Forest Holidays, but the recent sale means that the Club has now fully removed itself from the Forest Holidays cabin side of the business to concentrate on developing its campsite offering.
The agreement forms part of a deal in which Forest Holidays has been sold to LDC, the Private Equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group. The Forestry Commission will retain a shareholding in Forest Holidays.
Club members receive a £3.50 saving per pitch per night on Camping in the Forest bookings. For more information visit: www.campingintheforest.co.uk
