The Club's small Certificated Sites have big uptake amongst campers
More than one in three camp sites viewed at www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk using the Club’s new SiteSeeker search function, are Certificated Sites – proving that smaller sites are increasingly popular with campers.
People eager to take advantage of the tranquillity, peace and accessibility that comes with staying at a smaller site, often at pubs or on farms, viewed Certificated Sites over 135,000 times during the month of August. Popular locations include The New Forest and Loch Lomond.
SiteSeeker enables visitors looking for their perfect camp site to choose the right one for them and their own unique outdoor adventure. All sites are searchable regionally; by type and by available facilities, and all feature site contact details. Aerial views of the sites and surrounding areas are accessible, as are motorhome friendly directions to sites, Ordnance Survey coordinates and OS style maps which show the local terrain.
Eric Bolderson, Chairman of The Camping and Caravanning Club’s Exempted Camping Committee, says: “These figures go to show that Certificated Sites remain the sites of choice for many of our members. The Camping and Caravanning Club is extremely proud to have such a great Certificated Sites network.
“SiteSeeker provides the perfect way to search for places to camp and make the most of activities, attractions and places that inspire us to holiday in caravans, tents and motorhomes. It gives visitors a chance to see more information about their holiday destination, and provides contact details for booking, making it easy for members to find their ideal site.”
