Oswestry Camping and Caravanning Club Site Franchisees Alan and Gail Fitzsimmons will be welcoming all campers to their newly developed camp from 1st August 2007.
Situated in glorious countryside, just off the A5 outside Oswestry, the state of the art site offers a real treat for history lovers and adventurers alike. The Welsh mountain terrain provides a fabulous backdrop for the site, from which visitors can walk or just take in the views. Through the increased tourism the new site will bring, the area itself will enjoy even more visitors to its thriving tourist attractions and historical walks, as well as a boost to its local economy.
The new site, which will hold up to 65 units per night, is part of The Camping and Caravanning Club’s very successful Franchising initiative. With the support of the oldest and largest club for all types of camping, Alan and Gail Fitzsimmons have been able to completely re-design the site. Extensive work has been carried out by local contractors to provide a modern, quality camping experience for visitors.
Brand new facilities introduced to the site include a heated amenity block incorporating hot showers and extended dishwashing and laundry facilities. The site also boasts a newly constructed motorhome service point, all new hard standings and 16 amp electric hook ups to ensure a top of the range experience for all visitors.
The move to become franchisees marks a new era for the relationship between the Club and Alan and Gail Fitzsimmons. Previously the couple have been worked for over 10 years as Holiday Site Managers at a range of sites, including Scone, Keswick, Clitheroe, Milarrochy Bay and Clumber Park.
“There has been a lot of hard work put into the new facilities, and it will be great to see these used and enjoyed. We are happy to be working together with the Club to welcoming friends old and new to our site.”
Trevor Woodward, The Camping and Caravanning Club’s Sites Committee Chairman said: “This site is in a lovely location between Shrewsbury and Oswestry, with brand new facilities. The Club actively seeks out further quality places to camp and, through our network of Franchised Sites; we are able to do this to an award-winning, recognised standard. The regeneration has been a real local love affair, which we think will be done justice by the visitors arriving over the coming months, who will in turn put money into the local economy.”
