Camping Is Booming
August is traditionally a busy time for campers, caravanners and motorhome enthusiasts to get out and enjoy the very best of the British countryside. But, this year, it’s been even busier than ever before - site occupancy figures for the Camping and Caravanning Club’s Sites are up by 6% on last year’s record levels.
“More people are using Club Sites than ever before. They are chock-a-block with people enjoying the great outdoors,” said Trevor Woodward, Chairman of the Club’s Sites Committee.
He continues: “The weather has certainly been ideal for tent, caravan and motorhome users this August, but this success can be attributed to more than just rain or shine. The Camping and Caravanning Club has invested millions of pounds on its network of 100 award-winning Sites. They offer the very best, quality accommodation throughout the UK, providing excellent facilities, welcoming environments and are handy for places of interest with many set in some of the most stunning locations.”
The continuing upward trend in people enjoying camping and caravanning holidays has already seen the Club increase in membership by 30% in the last three years. With this trend looking set to continue, the Club is desperately looking for new, quality camp sites which the Club’s 400,000 plus members and non-members alike can enjoy.
