Your Place in the Country for 2007

How do you know where to look for the best, award-winning camp sites and holiday ideas? Just reach for a copy of Your Place in the Country 2007 – The Camping and Caravanning Club’s annual guide to a network of over 100 camp sites in some of the most beautiful parts of the UK.

The annual guide features extensive information on the Club’s award-winning UK Sites plus – for the first time – details of Forest Holidays Sites. On the Club Sites’ front, there are four new places to camp. Conkers, in the National Forest in Derbyshire, shares its location with the visitor experience of the same name. Thetford Forest is in Norfolk, by Britain’s largest lowland forest. Teversal, on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border, is at the heart of Robin Hood country and Troutbeck, in the Northern Lake District, encompasses all that is good about the Lake District – a superb location in unbeatable walking country with fantastic views and resident red squirrels.

Your Place in the Country 2007 also contains 24 Forest Holiday cabin and camping and caravanning sites. These sites are available through a joint venture between the Club and the Forestry Commission. Currently in the process of being sensitively upgraded, these will provide even more quality camp sites and places to stay in areas of extreme natural beauty.

The brochure is packed with information on all Club Sites, including site accessibility and things to do when you’re there. It also holds information on Self-Catering holidays, secure vehicle storage and details on how to book.

Trevor Woodward, The Camping and Caravanning Club Sites Committee Chairman, says: “Your Place in the Country 2007 provides campers, caravanners and motorhome users with the very best accommodation throughout the UK. Our Club Sites provide a standard of accommodation that is second to none. Each is individual and run to the highest of standards and friendliest of service.”

Your Place in the Country is one of a portfolio of Club Publications that Camping and Caravanning Club members receive as part of their membership package.  Others include: Camping and Caravanning, the monthly magazine including Out & About events listing supplement; Your Big Sites Book, the UK's biggest and most comprehensive camp sites guide (published every two years it lists over 4,000 places to camp); the Carefree Summer brochures, with details of holidays and travel abroad and much more.
