Have your say on improving roads for towers
A national survey has been launched with the full support of the Club to give motorists who tow a chance to have their say on how the road network in England works for them.
The survey has been put together by Highways England’s National Towing Working Group, with support from the Club and other stakeholders in the motoring industry, and aims to highlight issues towers face, and use that information to help improve overall safety.
The survey is completely anonymous and only takes about ten minutes to complete. It was conceived after a successful Motorcycle Working Group survey last year generated a huge response, which enabled that group to put actions in place to help address issues raised.
Ian Hewlett, the Club’s Technical Manager and Towing Working Group participant, said: “I urge all Club members to take the time to complete this survey before the deadline of 28 July 2017.
“A similar one was carried out for motorbike riders with some surprising results that has started to change organisations’ perceptions of these road users and what they see as important issues to make the roads safer for them. The towing survey has the same aim – to improve safety for all who tow.”
