Created to mark Stoke on Trent’s selection as European City of Sport 2016, the 20-mile heritage canoe trail starts in Westport Lake in Burslem, and ends at Froghall Wharf at the edge of the Peak District.

The first 2.5 mile section includes Middleport Pottery, now famous as the venue for the BBC TV Great Pottery Throwdown.

Other attractions along the route include the Emma Bridgewater factory and café, the Churnet Valley Steam Railway, and numerous historic canalside pubs.

The Club has a Special Interest Section for members who like to canoe or kayak. The Canoe-camping Club meets regularly throughout the country and welcomes beginners and experienced paddlers alike.
