We have stayed here for some two years. All the time we spent at Leek was a delight. - Mr and Mrs Gayler

The town of Leek has many interesting buildings and a new, pedestrianised shopping centre.

Foxfield Railway runs steam trains through five-and-a-half miles of north Staffordshire – a superb way to enjoy the area’s most beautiful scenery.

There are several museums, galleries and factories to explore in the Potteries, like Moorcroft in Stoke on Trent, which includes a factory tour.

Hire a bike to take the scenic Manifold cycle track. It follows the route of the former Leek and Manifold light railway.

Alton Towers is a theme park for all ages. It has many shows, rides and gardens along with a Caribbean lagoon-style Waterpark.

The spectacular house, garden, farmyard and adventure playground of Chatsworth are worth a visit.

Speedwell Cavern is one of the Peak District’s amazing caves. Visitors can explore it by boat.

Blackbrook Zoological Park has a large and varied collection of some of the most rare and endangered species in the world.

Cheddleton Flint Mill used to grind flint for the pottery industry.

Nearby Tittesworth reservoir has an adventure playground, barbecue area and footpaths around the water.

Rudyard Lake has a miniature, narrow gauge steam railway.

Eat Local

The Threshing Barn sells home-reared lamb and rare breed pork. Farmers’ Markets are held monthly in Bakewell, Matlock, Buxton, Castleton and Whaley Bridge.

Worth Noting

Some all-weather pitches available, however we may require awnings to be pitched on hardstandings or grass, therefore steel pegs may be required. Some pitches are sloping and chocks are required. Fly fishing available locally.
