We have stayed here for some two years. All the time we spent at Leek was a delight. - Mr and Mrs Gayler
The town of Leek has many interesting
buildings and a new, pedestrianised
shopping centre.
Foxfield Railway runs steam trains through five-and-a-half miles of north Staffordshire – a superb way to enjoy the area’s most beautiful scenery.
There are several museums, galleries and
factories to explore in the Potteries, like
Moorcroft in Stoke on Trent, which includes
a factory tour.
Hire a bike to take the scenic Manifold cycle track. It follows the route of the former Leek and Manifold light railway.
Alton Towers is a theme park for all ages. It has many shows, rides and gardens along with a Caribbean lagoon-style Waterpark.
The spectacular house, garden, farmyard
and adventure playground of Chatsworth
are worth a visit.
Speedwell Cavern is one of the Peak
District’s amazing caves. Visitors can explore
it by boat.
Blackbrook Zoological Park has a large and varied collection of some of the most rare
and endangered species in the world.
Cheddleton Flint Mill used to grind flint for
the pottery industry.
Nearby Tittesworth reservoir has an
adventure playground, barbecue area and
footpaths around the water.
Rudyard Lake has a miniature, narrow
gauge steam railway.
Eat Local
The Threshing Barn sells home-reared lamb and rare breed pork. Farmers’ Markets are held monthly in Bakewell, Matlock, Buxton, Castleton and Whaley Bridge.
Worth Noting
Some all-weather pitches available, however we may require awnings to be pitched on hardstandings or grass, therefore steel pegs may be required. Some pitches are sloping and chocks are required. Fly fishing available locally.
