Walkers, ramblers and all those who enjoy the great outdoors will love our Keswick Site. On the shore of Derwentwater, you will be a couple of minutes from the centre of town. Look out for the red squirrels.

Please note that from 1 November there will be no disabled facilities available at this site.

Keswick is home to several museums, including the Local History Museum, housed in a building created for tourists back in Victorian times.

The Cars of the Stars Museum includes one of the stars of the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang film and 18 vehicles from James Bond.

Trotters World of Animals has an active lynx conservation project, zebras, gibbons, snakes and more.

Bikes, rowing boats and motor boats can all be hired in Keswick.

Take the car over the Honister Pass to the beautiful Lake Buttermere.

A regular ferry service operates around the lake. Discounted tickets are available from Reception on Site.

The Theatre by the Lake is on the shores of Derwentwater, performing a variety of plays.

The Dodd viewpoint and Whinlatter Visitor Centre give the opportunity to watch the ospreys in flight over Bassenthwaite Lake.

Some of the best boot-fitters in the country can be found locally.

Cockermouth is home to Jennings Castle Brewery’s excellent ales, in the shadow of Cockermouth castle.

The coast at Maryport and the Scottish Borders are a drive away.

Carlisle has a 900-year-old castle, a cathedral and the Birdoswald Roman Fort and Visitor Centre.

The wonderful landscape around Keswick was formed during the Ice Age, when glaciers sculpted the mountains and valleys.

Worth Noting

During High Season and English Bank Holidays only one car per pitch permitted. Minimum booking period for Club Service pitches from 11 July to 30 August and English Bank Holidays is five nights, all other times three nights. Minimum booking period for Club Standard pitches for the same period is three nights, all other times two nights.

Eat Local

The well-stocked shop on site sells fresh local produce.

Please note

Due to the possibility of Site flooding all units must have a vehicle on site overnight and there may be restrictions on the availability of pitches and use of awnings. Canoes and windsurfers are charged 50 per cent of launching fees.
