Delamont Country Park

"Traditional Northern Irish hospitality"

Our Club Site in Northern Ireland is definitely worth the trip across the Irish Sea, if you live on the mainland. Near the stunning Strangford Lough, it is surrounded by the beauty of Delamont Country Park.

Please note: There are only Club Super Service Pitches here, therefore the fee of £2.90 per night applies at all times. However, there is a small tent area with standard pitches, which can be booked through the site only.

It’s a real peach of a Site in a delightful area. You have to work to get to it if you live on the mainland, but believe me – it’s worth it. - Clive Garrett

The Strangford Stone was erected near the Lough shore to celebrate the millennium. It is Ireland’s tallest standing stone.

Delamont Country Park has an adventure playground with a fortress and aerial runway. It also holds Ireland’s longest miniature railway, a heronry and mature woodlands. Entry is free for campers.

Strangford Lough is one of Europe’s most important marine sites and a paradise for birdwatchers.

The world famous Giant’s Causeway is a drive away on the north coast. Visit the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge during the same trip.

Sea fishing is available off Ardglass. Coarse and game fishing are also available locally.

Several marinas, anchorages and yacht clubs are on the Lough and at the coast for sailors.

Downpatrick is five miles away from Site.

St Patrick’s grave is said to be here. The Saint has connections with several other local towns.

Tyrella Beach is a lovely Blue Flag, sandy beach backed by sand dunes.

Strangford and other local towns have many good places to eat.

Mourne Heritage Trust gives visitors the chance to explore the Mourne and Slieve Croob Area of Outstanding Beauty on foot in the company of experienced guides.

Enjoy a Guided Tour of Belfast by bus, taxi or on foot. Tours include: murals, Stormont (Parliament) buildings, CS Lewis and Titanic Trails, among others.

The Site is around an hour’s drive from the Belfast Ferry and an hour and a half from the port of Larne for those travelling from the mainland.

Eat Local

The local farmer sells barbecue packs of free-range pork, bred on the farm.

Worth Noting

Adventure playground opposite site in Delamont Country Park, plus the longest miniature railway in Northern Ireland. Don't forget it’s only 10 miles to Tyrella Beach (Blue Flag).
