Gentle walks and cycle rides are top of the to do list from our Wolverley Club campsite.

Surrounded by the stunning Worcestershire countryside and with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal just 60 metres from site means you really can enjoy life in the slow lane.

The Lock Inn adjacent to the canal and a couple of minutes’ walk from the campsite provides an excellent resting place to enjoy a pint (or frozen cider) and partake in a spot of gongoozling. There are some lovely walks to be enjoyed along the canal towpath especially as there is Springfields country park near the canal were fishing is available and a great play park for the children. Stop off in Kidderminster and, as well as shops and eateries, you’ll find the Severn Valley Railway. Board a steam train and enjoy the 16 mile journey through glorious countryside to Bridgnorth.

There are numerous opportunities for family days out from the campsite. Explore 1,000 years of history at Hartlebury Museum near Kidderminster. Bodenham Aboretum and Earth Centre , Wolverley and Arley Aboretum, Arley village are wonderlands of trees and shrubs and for animal lovers the West Midland Safari and Leisure Park, Dudley Zoo and Rays Farm are not to be missed.

Back at camp, there’ still more to do. There’s a playing field for youngsters to let off steam adjacent to the campsite and a large recreation room with table tennis and a pool table keep children occupied in bad weather. There’s an excellent dog walk and a good range of facilities including showers, laundry and site shop.

we visited this site over 35years ago and were surprised at how the area had changed, but it did not spoil our enjoyment of the site, the helpful wardens kept it spotlessy clean even at busy weekends and there was never a que for the showers. We soon got used to the road noise on the side of the site nearest the main road and it did not bother us. Ideal base for visiting the many National Trust houses in the area, and if you love roses David Austin rose gardens are a must, it is a pleasant walk into Kidderminster we even saw a grass snake swimming in the canal, Severn Valley railway 1940s week was just the icing on the cake. 'we will return'

A lovely grassy peaceful site that has many interesting towns within easy reach including Ludlow, Church Stretton and many others. Climb the Long Mynd for breathtaking views and take a trip behind a steam engine from Kidderminster to Bridgenorth. There are National Trust properties to visit in the area.

The site is located just off the main road and has a good number of pitches on different levels, some grass and others with hardstandings and electric hook up points. The staff were very friendly and helpful on arrival and we were given the choice of 3 pitches for our tent. We picked one that was closer to the boundary of the main road so there was an element of road traffic noise but this was preferable to us than being under the trees at the other site of the camp. Very good shower block/toilets - spotlessly clean and no queues. The block is cleaned between 11:00 and 12:00 so doesn't interfere with morning showers which is helpful. There is a games room with pool tables and a small play ground for children and a big field to play ball games in. We were able to do some good walks direct from the campsite along the canal and across country so no need to use the car whilst we were there. The Queens Head pub in Wolverley up the hill has live music on a Friday night which was good as was the food. The Lock Inn just across the road from the campsite has an extensive menu and again good food. I would definitely return to the campsite but would probably try and get a pitch away from the road noise next time.

It was our first time in our camper van, very relaxed atmosphere, the toilets and showers are immaculate and fresh smelling, a small site which is not a bad thing as toilets etc. Never get busy. Through the bottom end of the field , via a gate you can get to a very popular pub called the lock Inn which is unsurprisingly on a lock for a canal, we walked up the canal which was beautiful. Only grumble was I couldn't stay any longer and had to come back to work. We booked a non hook up initially as none were available to book but on my enquiring availability as I checked in I was able to upgrade to hook up for the reasonable price of 4.10. Thanks guys and see you all soon
