Relax in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside at our campsite near the canal.

Gentle walks and cycle rides are top of the to do list from our Wolverley Club campsite. Surrounded by the stunning Worcestershire countryside and with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire canal just 60 metres from site means you really can enjoy life in the slow lane.

The Lock Inn adjacent to the canal and a couple of minutes’ walk from the campsite provides an excellent resting place to enjoy a pint (or frozen cider) and partake in a spot of gongoozling. There are some lovely walks to be enjoyed along the canal towpath especially as there is Springfields country park near the canal were fishing is available and a great play park for the children. Stop off in Kidderminster and, as well as shops and eateries, you’ll find the Severn Valley Railway. Board a steam train and enjoy the 16 mile journey through glorious countryside to Bridgnorth.

There are numerous opportunities for family days out from the campsite. Explore 1,000 years of history at Hartlebury Museum near Kidderminster. Bodenham Aboretum and Earth Centre , Wolverley and Arley Aboretum, Arley village are wonderlands of trees and shrubs and for animal lovers the West Midland Safari and Leisure Park, Dudley Zoo and Rays Farm are not to be missed.

Back at camp, there’ still more to do. There’s a playing field for youngsters to let off steam adjacent to the campsite and a large recreation room with table tennis and a pool table keep children occupied in bad weather. There’s an excellent dog walk and a good range of facilities including showers, laundry and site shop.

The site is well situated for great walks(or cycling) along the canal tow paths in both directions. The Steam Trains at Kidderminster make a great day out. A day ticket allows you to hop on and off all day, plus, it includes the engine shed & museum. Not too far away, the safari park is also well worth a visit as is the Black Country Museum but that'll take longer to get to but for a great day out it's well worth a little effort. We had a very nice meal at the Lock Inn but don't be in a hurry as service is very slow, still, you can relax with a drink & watch the narrow boats move up and down the Lock while you look forward to the meal arriving. It wouldn't put us off going there again. We'll certainly visit this site again as it has so much to offer.

A great site, very clean and wonderfully warm shower block.

A great site, very clean and wonderfully warm shower block. Visit Kidderminster by bike or walk along the towpath. 10/10 Only one complaint, the area where we should have dropped our grey water was difficult to manoeuvre into. The drain being in the centre of the roadway meant in order to get the outlet on the van over it we were very close to the fence. Because there is a concrete surround to the drain the rear wheel was on the surround leaving the van even closer to the fence. In the end we gave up and took the grey water home with us.

We returned to this area having lived nearby about 40 years ago. We also first visited this site nearly 5 years ago and have been impressed by the excellently upgraded facilities. Site manager showed us several possible pitches and helped us position caravan. All staff v. helpful. Top part of site closed off temporarily for new hard standings. Visited good new shopping centre Weavers Wharf in Kidderminster although old centre v. run down. V. good meal at Robin Hood pub at Drayton between Chaddesley and Belbroughton. (See their web site). Also visited picturesque Bewdley and enjoyed Cow Pie (!) at Pack Horse pub. Good Farm Shop on Birmingham Road out of Kidderminster selling rare breed pork and bacon. Excellent asparagus at farm near Munslow. Enjoyed 2 and a half mile walk from site around Wolverley village - details from Site Shop. Visited Stourport - pretty canal basin and river Severn. Good fairground for families! Stopped off at Blackstone Picnic area free car park where we could have walked 3/4 mile into Bewdley.
