A lovely campsite located on a canal with a number of attractions nearby.

Our Devizes Club campsite is a lovely quiet and secluded retreat by the side of the Avon and Kennet Canal in the heart of Wiltshire. The surrounding countryside, ideal for walkers and cyclists, is where you’ll find some of the UK’s most significant prehistoric sites including the iconic Stonehenge and Avebury Stone circle.

This well-kept, tree-lined campsite provides 90 pitches, some lined by hedging to give a more private feel. In addition to the amenity blocks, campers can expect a children’s play area and playing field and a large dog field.

You can walk or cycle into Devizes from the campsite via the spectacular Caen Hill flight of 29 locks or catch a bus from the stop a five minute walk from site. Buses also operate to Melksham, Bath and Bristol from here.

This bustling historic town has weekly general and collectors' markets and a regular farmers' market. Wadworth's Brewery is here. See its famous shire horses make deliveries in town. Sample the ales at the visitor centre where tours of the brewery and stables can be booked. Also in the town is the Wiltshire Heritage Museum where you'll find Britain’s best Bronze Age archaeology collections. The Kennet and Avon Canal Trust Museum alongside the canal is where you’ll discover the fascinating story of this delightful waterway.

Further afield Longleat and its 900 acres of parkland is a great family day out.

Worth Noting

Fishing available on the canal. Fees payable at reception. Rock pegs needed for hardstandings.

We've stayed at Devizes three times now twice in 2015 and once this year , the staff are wonderful. The site is a little boggy in very heavy rain. However there were staff on hand to help those out who couldn't quite cope. We will be back again in October. Lots to do in area. Devizes is a lovely little town as are some of the others surrounding Seend. We would recommend this site.

This is a lovely site right beside the Kennet and Avon Canal with great walks along the towpath both ways.Turn left for a nice walk to the Caen Hill Locks with a nice cafe at the top.or right for a nice stroll to The Barge pub for a nice lunch or dinner. The site is very well cared for and looks lovely and the staff are very polite and very hard working keeping this site looking wonderful for our enjoyment.

We walked to the Caen lock system - a 'must see' site. Good car park if you wish to drive.

We walked to the Caen lock system - a 'must see' site. Good car park if you wish to drive. Used local bus service - just outside site to Bath 7 return. Did the open top bus tour round town & hills above town. Visited 2 National Trust sites within easy driving distance.(several more to see) Still managed to drink some wine & relax on the site.

This was our first trip to Devizes and wont be our last. The site is situated right on the Kenett and avon canal so it was fantastic for peaceful walks with our two dogs, the site is clean and the facilities were quite adequate as always with camping and caravan sites. There is a pub right next door literally 2 mins walk away which did good reasonably price food so a proper bonus if you want to eat out, there is also a pub about a mile up the canal called the Barge inn which also did good food and drink the ale was exceptional both pubs were dog friendly which was great. To summarize would we go back?of course we would.
