A lovely campsite located on a canal with a number of attractions nearby.

Our Devizes Club campsite is a lovely quiet and secluded retreat by the side of the Avon and Kennet Canal in the heart of Wiltshire. The surrounding countryside, ideal for walkers and cyclists, is where you’ll find some of the UK’s most significant prehistoric sites including the iconic Stonehenge and Avebury Stone circle.

This well-kept, tree-lined campsite provides 90 pitches, some lined by hedging to give a more private feel. In addition to the amenity blocks, campers can expect a children’s play area and playing field and a large dog field.

You can walk or cycle into Devizes from the campsite via the spectacular Caen Hill flight of 29 locks or catch a bus from the stop a five minute walk from site. Buses also operate to Melksham, Bath and Bristol from here.

This bustling historic town has weekly general and collectors' markets and a regular farmers' market. Wadworth's Brewery is here. See its famous shire horses make deliveries in town. Sample the ales at the visitor centre where tours of the brewery and stables can be booked. Also in the town is the Wiltshire Heritage Museum where you'll find Britain’s best Bronze Age archaeology collections. The Kennet and Avon Canal Trust Museum alongside the canal is where you’ll discover the fascinating story of this delightful waterway.

Further afield Longleat and its 900 acres of parkland is a great family day out.

Arrived with two other vw vans on the fri. Nice big pitches. Very clean and tidy site. One of the cleanest we've visited. (Probably because its a c & c site). 2 pubs very close to site. (One a 25min walk along canal the other 2min walk from site). Great walks along the locks. Takes abt 1 hour to walk to Devizes. Hopefully will return early 2014.

Fantastic location for walking, bus routes, local pub. Site facilities are adequate and access is easy however the welcome was far from warm but that would not put us off using the site again.

A lovely site, well situated for exploring Wiltshire.

A lovely site, well situated for exploring Wiltshire. The dog walk is fantastic and includes a wooded area. The canal is only a few moments away and half an hours walk in either direction will take you to a great pub. If you do the stone circles and white horse hunt, head to the White Horse Pub at Winterbourne Bassett, they are dog friendly and do great food at a very reasonable price. All in all a great weeks holiday. We shall be coming back to Devises site.
