We loved this campsite and it's the first one we've been to for a while that we will definitely return to (we camp 3 or 4 times a year). The campsite was relatively unoccupied when we were there so it might be noisier when busy but the pitches are really well spaced - even if all the pitches near us had been occupied we would only have been able to see one or two others from our spot. We were given pitch 10. This is near a rope swing which the children loved and a short walk up some steps to the shower block and washing up facilities. Great pitch when not busy as we had the swing to ourselves! Our pitch was flat and soft so easy to get pegs into. As others have commented, there is no grass as it's in the woods but it's bare earth, not mud (and it had been wet prior to our visit). For dog owners - dogs must be kept on leads but there are plenty of trees to tie them to and a hook outside the loos. For bug haters - the loos were spotless and no spiders anywhere in sight (unusual in October). A mop was handy so you could clean the shower floor after you (so the showers were always clean). Lovely hot showers too with a stool and hooks for all your stuff. AND there was a low level of heating in the loos at night! Soap provided for handwashing and handriers, lovely. I'd go so far as to say nicest cleanest toilet block of the last 10 or so campsites we've been to. Lots of tourist leaflets available and a basic shop though we ran out of gas and so had the shop :( We had a lovely warm welcome and look forward to visiting again. I really don't have any downsides to mention and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this campsite. Oh, and we had a lovely visit to Bignor Roman villa just down the road. It has a great tea room with home made cakes and a nice little museum and fabulous mosaics to look around. If you like history, I recommend going there. It's about 15 minutes in the car from the campsite
