Overview

A tranquil campsite retreat in the Midlands.

If you want a get away from it all break but not be too far from civilization our Clent Hills Club cmpsite is a great option. Its location in a peaceful valley, less than a mile from the beautiful Clent Hills, makes this a truly relaxing site, yet the city of Birmingham is less than 15 miles away with Halesowen and Kidderminster even closer.

This spacious site enjoys a peaceful ambience and pleasant views across the surrounding countryside. The Clent Hills, less than a mile from the campsite, are a popular haunt for walkers with miles of footpaths and stunning panoramic views of the Cotswolds, Welsh Borders and Shropshire Hills. Site is quite limited for children having only 2 swings and a slide, no area to play cricket or football. No area for dogs to be off the lead and no walks directly from the site, a lot of road walking with no footpath before reaching the public footpaths. Wardens not over friendly and very strict about dogs being on leads at all times. I understand that dogs cannot be running wild on the campsite but I do think that responsible owners with well trained and obedient dogs should be able to let their dog be lead free on their pitch. Could benefit from some lighting, very dark when walking to the toilet block at night. No recycling facilities. Good pub few minutes drive away, The Sun, good food, play area for children, busy but clean and friendly.

We are total beginners to caravanning so we were really grateful for cheerful friendly and unstinting help from site staff - absolutely first class. We met some interesting people and although we were only there for a couple of nights, very much enjoyed our little break. Unluckily night one was disturbed by spectacular thunderstorms, and night two by the bleating of a large flock of sheep who had either just been separated from their lambs or were being menaced by a pack of ravening wolves. But such is country life. Clent is normally very peaceful, so we will be back. Facilities as described elsewhere were excellent. Local Spar is well stocked, and nearby butcher spectacularly good, Try the pork pies, if that's your kind of thing.

Beautiful site, Ron & Jo (mgrs.

This review is for Clent Hills

Beautiful site, Ron & Jo (mgrs.) very helpful and welcoming, access road has been newly tarmaced, visited with friends and our children who had a fantastic time, some pitches sloping but most of hard standing is level, Ron arranged pitches next to each other for us and allowed us to turn van around so we could pitch awnings facing each other which was brilliant! The only small downside to the hard standing is that it is brutal underfoot as it is more rocky than hard standing we have stayed on before at other sites, and you needed shoes at all times in the awning! However, this definitely wouldn't put us off going again.
