Overview

Camping in the grounds of an ancient royal palace in the heart of Scotland.

Scone Palace is described as a breathtakingly beautiful place of power and mystery. It’s also the home of the celebrated Stone of Scone - also known as the Stone of Destiny – and our very own Scone Club campsite. Located in its vast estate, our campsite is a nature lovers’ paradise. Deer, buzzards, owls even ospreys have been spotted here. You might even find yourself sharing your pitch with one of the site’s resident black rabbits.

Our attractive, peaceful tree-line campsite has well-spaced pitches and excellent amenities including spacious showers and separate family and disabled facilities. There is a well-stocked shop with fresh rolls and newspapers delivered daily and a recreation room full of local information.

Scone Palace hosts many events and has amazing grounds, including the Lawns and Pinetum. Show your membership card to receive discounted tickets. Special rates are also available for grandstand tickets at Perth Racecourse next door to the campsite.

As well as some great walks along the river direct from site, sports lovers will be pleased to discover there are five golf courses within five miles of the campsite. There’s an award-winning Blue Flag beach at Broughty Ferry just east of Dundee. This sweeping stretch of golden sand is one of only eight beaches in Scotland to hold the Blue Flag status.

Just two miles from the campsite, the city of Perth has good shopping, a leisure centre and a theatre, while Pitlochry offers a children’s amusement park and Festival Theatre.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Fly fishing (for trout only) is permitted on the River Tay, with permits available from the office. Only one car per pitch during high season and busy periods. Caravan Holiday Homes are available for purhcase.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

Strawberries and other fruits are grown locally. Home-made cakes are sold at the Macmillan coffee shop 2.5 miles from the site. The site shop sells fresh Scottish morning rolls delivered daily, free-range eggs and strawberries in season.

Good site, but struggled with large number of people on site.

Good site, but struggled with large number of people on site. Toilets were late getting cleaned and waste chemical was closed. Showers were a good size but fan was choked with large lumps of dust. Overall, happy with stay.

Found site poorly sign posted into site itself upon there was an issue with flooded pitches making pitch selection difficult was offered two pitche as we wanted sheltered pitch after high winds on previous site early in week one was too boggy on the grass made putting up awning difficult the other pitch we where offered had a permanent residents car parked on it and we felt the car should not have been there and this led to a delay in us getting the pitch as the resident wasn't in to move it. apart this the site was lovely well maintained and staff where helpful in booking the next stage of our holiday suggesting alternate sites as the one we wanted was unavailable.we felt there wasn't much to our taste on the area due to secluded nature pitlochry plenty of shopping as well as dam and fish ladder walk as well.enjoyed local whiskey distillery the famous grouse experience
