Overview

Camping in the grounds of an ancient royal palace in the heart of Scotland.

Scone Palace is described as a breathtakingly beautiful place of power and mystery. It’s also the home of the celebrated Stone of Scone - also known as the Stone of Destiny – and our very own Scone Club campsite. Located in its vast estate, our campsite is a nature lovers’ paradise. Deer, buzzards, owls even ospreys have been spotted here. You might even find yourself sharing your pitch with one of the site’s resident black rabbits.

Our attractive, peaceful tree-line campsite has well-spaced pitches and excellent amenities including spacious showers and separate family and disabled facilities. There is a well-stocked shop with fresh rolls and newspapers delivered daily and a recreation room full of local information.

Scone Palace hosts many events and has amazing grounds, including the Lawns and Pinetum. Show your membership card to receive discounted tickets. Special rates are also available for grandstand tickets at Perth Racecourse next door to the campsite.

As well as some great walks along the river direct from site, sports lovers will be pleased to discover there are five golf courses within five miles of the campsite. There’s an award-winning Blue Flag beach at Broughty Ferry just east of Dundee. This sweeping stretch of golden sand is one of only eight beaches in Scotland to hold the Blue Flag status.

Just two miles from the campsite, the city of Perth has good shopping, a leisure centre and a theatre, while Pitlochry offers a children’s amusement park and Festival Theatre.

Worth Noting

Fly fishing (for trout only) is permitted on the River Tay, with permits available from the office. Only one car per pitch during high season and busy periods. Caravan Holiday Homes are available for purhcase.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

Strawberries and other fruits are grown locally. Home-made cakes are sold at the Macmillan coffee shop 2.5 miles from the site. The site shop sells fresh Scottish morning rolls delivered daily, free-range eggs and strawberries in season.

The camp site is nice and quiet, and wherever you are on site you are close to the utility block. Wi-fi is also available and we had no problems the whole time we were there. Perth is only a 10 minute drive away and has all the charm of a village with all the shops of a city! There are many country walks around and of course Scone Palace to visit. Would definitely recommend this site to travellers.

Stayed at the site for the Rewind Festival at Scone Palace.

Stayed at the site for the Rewind Festival at Scone Palace. The site was full to capacity of happy revellers, but the wardens still managed to maintain the site to the high standards expected of CC&C sites - well done them! We have stayed at Scone many times any usually enjoy the peace and quiet of the site and I can honestly say that even though there were a lot of "merry" people returning home from the festival, the noise level was not excessive. Big thumbs up to all the wardens who kept all us Rewinders happy, clean and safe over the weekend - I'm sure it was a difficult job at times, but they pulled it off with a cheery smile!

This was our first visit to Scone as we enjoy going NH racing but usually travel to Perth races and then go home. For a change we thought we would stay at Scone and we are thoroughly glad we did. The friendly staff at reception made us feel very welcome and the site and facilities are great. Modernized toilet blocks, lovely big pitches and great views. A good afternoon at the races (three winners) and on our return the local butcher was there, so we had a nice BBQ. A brisk walk around the outside of the racecourse whilst my wife watched her soaps finished off a great day. We will return (as Gen McArthur said).
