Overview

Camping in the grounds of an ancient royal palace in the heart of Scotland.

Scone Palace is described as a breathtakingly beautiful place of power and mystery. It’s also the home of the celebrated Stone of Scone - also known as the Stone of Destiny – and our very own Scone Club campsite. Located in its vast estate, our campsite is a nature lovers’ paradise. Deer, buzzards, owls even ospreys have been spotted here. You might even find yourself sharing your pitch with one of the site’s resident black rabbits.

Our attractive, peaceful tree-line campsite has well-spaced pitches and excellent amenities including spacious showers and separate family and disabled facilities. There is a well-stocked shop with fresh rolls and newspapers delivered daily and a recreation room full of local information.

Scone Palace hosts many events and has amazing grounds, including the Lawns and Pinetum. Show your membership card to receive discounted tickets. Special rates are also available for grandstand tickets at Perth Racecourse next door to the campsite.

As well as some great walks along the river direct from site, sports lovers will be pleased to discover there are five golf courses within five miles of the campsite. There’s an award-winning Blue Flag beach at Broughty Ferry just east of Dundee. This sweeping stretch of golden sand is one of only eight beaches in Scotland to hold the Blue Flag status.

Just two miles from the campsite, the city of Perth has good shopping, a leisure centre and a theatre, while Pitlochry offers a children’s amusement park and Festival Theatre.

Worth Noting

Fly fishing (for trout only) is permitted on the River Tay, with permits available from the office. Only one car per pitch during high season and busy periods. Caravan Holiday Homes are available for purhcase.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora or fauna. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

Strawberries and other fruits are grown locally. Home-made cakes are sold at the Macmillan coffee shop 2.5 miles from the site. The site shop sells fresh Scottish morning rolls delivered daily, free-range eggs and strawberries in season.

A really nice site - my only possible criticism is that Scone Palace closes for the winter and that isn't stated on your website ! A small thing and of course I could have checked, but it would be nice if you had the closing dates on the site. It was lovely and peaceful, everything was spotless and we were very warmly welcomed by the managers. Buses from the top of the road were all going at the wrong time (or the wrong direction!) ... our fault for not checking - but the walk down into Perth was actually most enjoyable - about 2.5 miles and the museum in Perth was very interesting. We also found an wonderful shop selling specialist coffee and tea opposite the Museum, and can heartily recommend the "Post Box" restaurant on the corner by the museum. A most enjoyable stay and we will certainly return when the Palace is open!

Just spent a very enjoyable 3 night break here at Scone and the peace and quiet was fantastic, will be back before the end of the season for sure, One point i must make though is that when leaving my pitch ( pitch 59 ) to exit the site with the van hitched i was rather concerned as to the very tight turn to actually exit through the barrier as there is a tree stump on the offside which i feel could be struck by the rear of the van. This is my only minor concern regarding an otherwise lovely site
