    Top site for fishing

Horsley Club Site, near the North Downs. Perfect for fishing, relaxing, walking.

Our tranquil Horsley Club campsite lies just north of the beautiful Surrey Hills, popular for the network of footpaths that criss-cross them, including the long distance North Downs Way.

Horsley is a peaceful campsite tucked away down the end of a quiet lane. Although large, with some 130 pitches, campers are able to sit back and relax here – either watching the abundant wildlife – foxes, deer, rabbits and ducks are all regular visitors - or casting a line into the picturesque Horsley Lake – the campsite’s centre piece. Day fishing is available here.

The campsite has clean, modern facilities. There is a new children’s play area, dog walk and a recreation room.

The Horsley Jubilee Trail, starting at Horsley station, is a nine-mile circular walk taking in woods, historic buildings, great panoramas and a well-earned refreshment stop at a traditional English pub. You can enjoy more views of the area from Newlands Corner, a popular beauty sport in the Surrey Hills, just south of the campsite.

For days out visit the National Trust’s Polsden Lacey, a stunning Edwardian Manor House near Dorking, RHS Garden Wisely the flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society, and its huge plant collection, Bocketts Park Farm near Leatherhead and the Brookland Museum - home to Concorde - in Weybridge.

The theme parks Chessington World of Adventure, Legoland and Thorpe Park are all nearby.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Nice site with a lovely lake and good play area for kids.

Nice site with a lovely lake and good play area for kids. Slightly shaded in places by large trees so if you want full sun. Staff friendly and helpful. Showers etc clean and hot. Only gripe would be the bin location. By main reception so its a bit of a hike.

Close to several National Trust Houses which we visited and good pubs with food and gardens.

Close to several National Trust Houses which we visited and good pubs with food and gardens. Great for those who like to fish and there is a nice play barn for the wet weather. The play park is good and fenced against dogs but a shame that the swing for older children was broken. Horsley is a great location from which to explore the Surrey Hills and even take a train to London.

We stayed with our dog (Rollo, a spaniel) for a couple of nights while we visited family in nearby Leatherhead. The campsite is situated round a medium sized man-made lake, with huge carp and lots of ducks and moorhen, and a continuosly playing fountain. It all added to the tranquility of this level wooded site, especially as our pitch was by the water's edge. There are lots of footpaths in nearby woods where we could exercise Rollo. Considering its quite near London its quite a rural area, with Box Hill and Headley Heath within striking distance.
