    Top site for fishing

Horsley Club Site, near the North Downs. Perfect for fishing, relaxing, walking.

Our tranquil Horsley Club campsite lies just north of the beautiful Surrey Hills, popular for the network of footpaths that criss-cross them, including the long distance North Downs Way.

Horsley is a peaceful campsite tucked away down the end of a quiet lane. Although large, with some 130 pitches, campers are able to sit back and relax here – either watching the abundant wildlife – foxes, deer, rabbits and ducks are all regular visitors - or casting a line into the picturesque Horsley Lake – the campsite’s centre piece. Day fishing is available here.

The campsite has clean, modern facilities. There is a new children’s play area, dog walk and a recreation room.

The Horsley Jubilee Trail, starting at Horsley station, is a nine-mile circular walk taking in woods, historic buildings, great panoramas and a well-earned refreshment stop at a traditional English pub. You can enjoy more views of the area from Newlands Corner, a popular beauty sport in the Surrey Hills, just south of the campsite.

For days out visit the National Trust’s Polsden Lacey, a stunning Edwardian Manor House near Dorking, RHS Garden Wisely the flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society, and its huge plant collection, Bocketts Park Farm near Leatherhead and the Brookland Museum - home to Concorde - in Weybridge.

The theme parks Chessington World of Adventure, Legoland and Thorpe Park are all nearby.

Worth Noting

Fishing is available from this site from 1 May to site closing date. Current Environment Agency rod licence is required before fishing can commence. This site is located at the end of a "private lane" which is sign posted.

This site has various pitch locations for both tents and caravans, plenty of shelter from the elements if required. Lovely lake for those that wish to fish (fish to friendly lol) or for those that wish to have a nice peaceful relaxation period beside the lake. We would definitely return to this site as it also not far from the train station (20 min walk) offering acces to London or other surrounding areas. Just wish, that the local council would allow better signs to be erected (if you miss the turning there's not many places to turn round) this seems to be the norm throughout for the councils and C&CC. Thanks to the site staff for a lovely weekend.

The site has several fields/areas, all of which are very different and the weekend we were there the staff had very skillfully placed people to suit their needs even the large groups were catered for without impacting on others who wanted a more peaceful time. For me this is one of the added values of the C&CC where staff try their best to meet such a wide variety of outfits and groups. The site was emaculate and the fishing lake is beautiful. There are many walks in the location and many people used the sites to visit local attractions and to take the local train up to London. There were a couple on the staff who had only started out as site assistants this year and they were so confident in what they were doing you would have thought they had been doing the job for years. Congratulations to the C&CC trainers and Horsley managers for doing such a great job in training up new staff.
