    Top site for fishing

Horsley Club Site, near the North Downs. Perfect for fishing, relaxing, walking.

Our tranquil Horsley Club campsite lies just north of the beautiful Surrey Hills, popular for the network of footpaths that criss-cross them, including the long distance North Downs Way.

Horsley is a peaceful campsite tucked away down the end of a quiet lane. Although large, with some 130 pitches, campers are able to sit back and relax here – either watching the abundant wildlife – foxes, deer, rabbits and ducks are all regular visitors - or casting a line into the picturesque Horsley Lake – the campsite’s centre piece. Day fishing is available here.

The campsite has clean, modern facilities. There is a new children’s play area, dog walk and a recreation room.

The Horsley Jubilee Trail, starting at Horsley station, is a nine-mile circular walk taking in woods, historic buildings, great panoramas and a well-earned refreshment stop at a traditional English pub. You can enjoy more views of the area from Newlands Corner, a popular beauty sport in the Surrey Hills, just south of the campsite.

For days out visit the National Trust’s Polsden Lacey, a stunning Edwardian Manor House near Dorking, RHS Garden Wisely the flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society, and its huge plant collection, Bocketts Park Farm near Leatherhead and the Brookland Museum - home to Concorde - in Weybridge.

The theme parks Chessington World of Adventure, Legoland and Thorpe Park are all nearby.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Fishing available from site opening to closing - seasonal or daily tickets are available. This site is located at the end of a "private lane" which is sign posted.

If you have any visitors or additional vehicles we do have 11 spaces on site for extra parking. If these are full alternative off-site parking facilities are available 0.8 miles away in the village.

This review is for Horsley

having stayed at Chichester before coming to Horsley, we were surprised to find that no mops were in the shower block. the ground was very wet and mud was almost impossible to clear mud from the showers with only the blade available. the site manager did explain that there was a health problem with the use of mops, but it was obvious that some had ignored even a chance of 'mopping' their mud off the floor of the shower. there needs to be a complete revamp of the facilities there, because everything is so 'tired' and also more showers available in peak times. saying this we have had a very quiet, pleasant stay with both Chichester and east Horsely this holiday and look forward to having another holiday in sept /oct with you. keep up the good work.

Whilst the staff were very helpful over extending our stay, there was a distinct 'end of season' feeling. There was only 1 toilet/shower facility open during the entire week we were there, even though most hard stand pitches were occupied. This facility, whilst warm, was definitely 'tired', with bulbs needing to be replaced and one of the shower heads on the Female side needing repair. However we would return to the site.

Wardens were not knowledgeable about how to find the bus stops/ times etc on how to get to Guildford. It would have been helpful to get directions on where the stops were. The time tables were in the information room, but a little extra help would have been good.
