    Top site for fishing

Horsley Club Site, near the North Downs. Perfect for fishing, relaxing, walking.

Our tranquil Horsley Club campsite lies just north of the beautiful Surrey Hills, popular for the network of footpaths that criss-cross them, including the long distance North Downs Way.

Horsley is a peaceful campsite tucked away down the end of a quiet lane. Although large, with some 130 pitches, campers are able to sit back and relax here – either watching the abundant wildlife – foxes, deer, rabbits and ducks are all regular visitors - or casting a line into the picturesque Horsley Lake – the campsite’s centre piece. Day fishing is available here.

The campsite has clean, modern facilities. There is a new children’s play area, dog walk and a recreation room.

The Horsley Jubilee Trail, starting at Horsley station, is a nine-mile circular walk taking in woods, historic buildings, great panoramas and a well-earned refreshment stop at a traditional English pub. You can enjoy more views of the area from Newlands Corner, a popular beauty sport in the Surrey Hills, just south of the campsite.

For days out visit the National Trust’s Polsden Lacey, a stunning Edwardian Manor House near Dorking, RHS Garden Wisely the flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society, and its huge plant collection, Bocketts Park Farm near Leatherhead and the Brookland Museum - home to Concorde - in Weybridge.

The theme parks Chessington World of Adventure, Legoland and Thorpe Park are all nearby.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Fishing is available from this site from 1 May to site closing date. Current Environment Agency rod licence is required before fishing can commence. This site is located at the end of a "private lane" which is sign posted.

Please be aware that parking is limited at the campsite. Unfortunately we can only guarantee one car parking space per pitch. If you have any visitors or additional vehicles we do have 11 spaces on site for extra parking. If these are full alternative off-site parking facilities are available 0.8 miles away in the village.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

F Conisbee and Son sell meat from local farms, including sausages and cooked meats. There is a Farmers’ Market in Guildford on Saturdays.

The site is great however having hot and cold food is a real bonus. This weekend we have found it so helpful as we had fish and chips Friday night, got back Saturday and the girls were starving so I could grab jacket potatoes for their tea and this morning for a treat we had a full English breakfast served outside on china plates! A real addition to the campsite.

The campsite team impressed us very much.

The campsite team impressed us very much. We discovered that we had left a vital piece of tent kit at home after arrival and thought that we would have to book into a hotel. The staff went out of their way to make ready a Readycamp tent that had just been vacated and within an hour we were settling in with a nice cup of tea. The Readycamp tent was really comfortable and we are now tempted to leave our tent home and take up glamping. Our short stay was very enjoyable and made even more so by the kindness of the staff.

Pitches close together, only space for caravan and car not awning.

This review is for Horsley

Pitches close together, only space for caravan and car not awning. Our visit was after heavy winter rain with 7m caravan (full length of pitch). Could not put awning up, car had to be parked on edge of pitch e.g. to muddy. During summer with hard ground wonderful site, with lake etc. We will be visiting again.
