    Top site for fishing

Horsley Club Site, near the North Downs. Perfect for fishing, relaxing, walking.

Our tranquil Horsley Club campsite lies just north of the beautiful Surrey Hills, popular for the network of footpaths that criss-cross them, including the long distance North Downs Way.

Horsley is a peaceful campsite tucked away down the end of a quiet lane. Although large, with some 130 pitches, campers are able to sit back and relax here – either watching the abundant wildlife – foxes, deer, rabbits and ducks are all regular visitors - or casting a line into the picturesque Horsley Lake – the campsite’s centre piece. Day fishing is available here.

The campsite has clean, modern facilities. There is a new children’s play area, dog walk and a recreation room.

The Horsley Jubilee Trail, starting at Horsley station, is a nine-mile circular walk taking in woods, historic buildings, great panoramas and a well-earned refreshment stop at a traditional English pub. You can enjoy more views of the area from Newlands Corner, a popular beauty sport in the Surrey Hills, just south of the campsite.

For days out visit the National Trust’s Polsden Lacey, a stunning Edwardian Manor House near Dorking, RHS Garden Wisely the flagship garden of the Royal Horticultural Society, and its huge plant collection, Bocketts Park Farm near Leatherhead and the Brookland Museum - home to Concorde - in Weybridge.

The theme parks Chessington World of Adventure, Legoland and Thorpe Park are all nearby.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Fishing is available from this site from 1 May to site closing date. Current Environment Agency rod licence is required before fishing can commence. This site is located at the end of a "private lane" which is sign posted.

Please be aware that parking is limited at the campsite. Unfortunately we can only guarantee one car parking space per pitch. If you have any visitors or additional vehicles we do have 11 spaces on site for extra parking. If these are full alternative off-site parking facilities are available 0.8 miles away in the village.

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

F Conisbee and Son sell meat from local farms, including sausages and cooked meats. There is a Farmers’ Market in Guildford on Saturdays.

A friendly lovely setting for all types of visitors, although I was disappointed where I was given my pitch, in the corner of the wooded area on top of large tree roots sticking out of the ground! Apart from this I would visit again but choose another area.

We have stayed here before and the site, staff and facilities were very good. The fishing was great and with a pitch opposite the Lake very restful. However, on returning this year, the site generally needed quite a lot of repairs and when we visited the Shower block we were both amazed at the deterioration in the facilities. The men's showers and toilets were clean but the wash basins had loose taps and the surrounds were cracked and looked very old all the showers had cracked tiles etc. I hope that the site is due for an upgrade very soon and will not return until this is done

Unfortunately when I stayed at this site there was a large group of girls staying there which were very noisy late into the evening and was awoken at 7am by children playing in the park. Although you cant stop children having fun but at 7am this was a little bit too early and the parents/carers should maybe have not allowed the children to the play area so early to show consideration to fellow campers. Also although everyone is informed that there should be no ball games on site this was not adhered to and the site wardens don't seem to enforce this. I must admit I have stayed at this site three times now and the most recent visit was the worse the other two times were a lot quieter. One word of warning though that it is best not to ask to be near the play area as you may end up literally next to it. It has not put me off staying at the site but I think next time I may request not to be near play area which might make my stay more peaceful.

Very disappointed with facilities e.g. Showers 5mens 5 ladies.W.C. 5in each unit max of ten. This in totally inadequate FOR A SITE WITH 130 pitches meaning up to a minimum of 260 adults plus a number of children. Lack of map of site only quick advice from warden who pitched us,unable to find motorhome service point. Site seemed overcrowded especially in the tented area as no attention payed to where pitches were. Would not return to this site.
