Chertsey is on the banks of the Thames, just a 30-minute train ride from London.

This lovely riverside campsite is an oasis in the suburbs. It has a really rural feel yet is just a 30-minute train ride to London from the Weybridge station. It’s also perfectly placed for visiting some of the country’s best-loved theme parks (Lego Land, Thorpe Park and Chessington), as well as the world-famous Kew, Wisely and Savill gardens. Hampton Court and Chelsea flower shows are also within easy reach from here.

This popular site is on the banks of the River Thames. Bag yourself a riverside pitch and watch the many pleasure craft sail by. Canoeists can launch from here, while walkers will enjoy the Thames Path Nature Trail, a towpath leading to Staines.

The sheltered site provides great facilities for campers, including a games room with TV and table tennis table.

Worth Noting

The site is outside the Congestion Charge and Low Emission Zones. Fishing is available 16 June-15 March. Towcars must remain on site overnight (due to the possibility of flooding). Super Service pitches have TV aerial sockets. The Weybridge station is located 4 Miles from the campsite. Those with motorhomes who wish to use this station are advised to use a taxi when possible

WiFi

100% coverage cannot be guaranteed due to rural location, weather conditions and changing flora or fauna. These can cause variable signal strength. Hotspots are available. Prices.

Eat Local

The farm shop in Lyne sells a range of home-grown fruit and vegetables as wellas goose eggs, fresh bread, chutney, jams and more.

Had a superb long weekend.

This review is for Chertsey

Had a superb long weekend. Hot food van on site was brilliant, (Last two days this year unfortunately - end October) Site managers very helpful with directions off site. Enjoyed watching the wildlife. Very pleasant walk through town to the railway station. Excellent train journey to Waterloo. (The poppies at the tower were wonderful). Will book again for a longer break to walk the Thames path, visit Windsor, more London visits etc. Also to spend some time in Chertsey itself, looks like there are some good shops. The Kingfisher pub over the bridge has excellent food at good prices. 5 minute walk. We would have liked to have had access to litter bins at the service points, instead of just at the exit gates.

The Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

The Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The site has the River Thames on one side, all fenced off and safe.Outside there is a Garage which has a handy mini supermarket. Either side of the bridge over the Thames are pubs, The Bridge is closer and offers 20% discount to site visitors. The Kingfisher is over the bridge and has good food and beers. We had a very nice meal there for 80 for 4 people. There is a riverside walk along the bank of the Thames from the Kingfisher past Chertsey Lock. Also on the other side walks and picnic area over by Chertsey Meads. We used Geoff, the very helpful local taxi driver, to get us to and from Weybridge Station for our trip to London. The fast (30 min) trains go from Weybridge rather than Chertsey Station. Fare 10 each way for 4 people. A site we would highly recommend and hope to visit again. Ideal for either visiting London or exploring the local area, especially if in a motorhome and without a car.

Everything about this site is spot on.

This review is for Chertsey

Everything about this site is spot on. From the initial welcome to the cycling staff member who took us down to our pitch. Electric hook-ups are illuminated to make night time loo runs easy should you need them. Fabulous pitch a few yards from the Thames within earshot of the weir. You can see the cars on the M3 but curiously little noise - the planes were more intrusive! Easy access to numerous pubs, walkable to Chertsey (20 minutes walking) for small shops, butcher, Co-op and pubs / tea shops. Good facilities on site although the toilet block doesn't look like one. Recycling centre is great allowing you to do your part. Lots of options for hardstanding, grass, electric or not catering for all needs. Very well kept throughout and extremely well priced for the quality. Would definitely recommend on all counts and will certainly return.
