Site well placed for Snape, Aldeburgh and Woodbridge. Plenty of places to walk, including a pub. The highlight was a couple of horses and carriages.
Only downside was turfing over the road early all through B/H weekend but we will be back as a great base. Our dog loved the walks and playing with Eddie's dog.
As we have all we need in the van we had no need to use the facilities. Thanks again for a lovely weekend

Eddie, the owner is extremely helpful and friendly. The site is very peaceful and pleasant.
There is a decent pub within a few minutes walk where we had a lovely meal. An absolute bonus is that within a minute on the bikes you are off road for miles and miles of heath, forestry and even an mtb single track trail.
We only stayed 2 nights and wish we could have stayed longer. We will definitely visit again.

The Forge campsite is ideal for visiting Aldeburgh (8 miles) and many other interesting places such as Snape Maltings and Orford Ness. The lanes round here are mostly quite narrow but Eddie, the very friendly site owner, emailed us a handy map showing the best route to the site from the A12 only 2 miles away.
Blaxhall village is walking distance and has a nice looking pub called the Ship Inn. You can walk your dog in the recreation ground just across the lane from the site. Loads of public footpaths in the area.
We pitched on some hardstanding in the former paddock to avoid getting stuck on the main camping ground just round the corner.
We hope to stay here again in a few weeks time. Recommended.

The site is located in a tiny and quiet village and the camping field is huge so even at capacity you'd have space and privacy. There are minimal facilities, consisting only of drinking water tap, waste disposal, and in a shed, a toilet and sink. There's a small electric heater in the shed so it's not cold, but there are no showers at this site. The only thing I'd call out is the lack of mirror above the sink, otherwise the facilities provided are adequate if nothing special.
The owner is very friendly and had lots of suggestions for places to visit and eat. He also kindly let us use a small field at the other side of the farm to pitch on due to soft ground on the usual camping field.
It's very quiet at night and little light pollution gives great view of the stars. You can hear owls calling throughout the night.
It's a ten minute walk to the village pub which seems a popular place to eat, though we preferred to cater for ourselves.
It's an ideal base to explore the coast.
If you have shower and dishwashing facilities in your unit then I'd definitely recommend this site.
