Relax in the Suffolk countryside

Visitors to Polstead Club campsite can expect to find a thoughtfully laid out campsite, maintained to a high standard. The pitches are generously sized, some are screened by hedges and trees other pitches are in small clusters giving a more secluded feel.

The modern toilet and shower facilities, together with a superb washing up area are centrally located. The site shop is stocked with essentials and younger campers are treated to a small play area.

Its rural location on the edge of a conservation area ensures visitors to our Polstead campsite in Suffolk have plenty to do during their stay. The campsite takes its name from a pretty village just a mile away, which features a large pond separated from the village green by a steep hill. There is an excellent network of paths around the village, some taking in the area’s ancient woodland and county wildlife sites.

The campsite is surrounded by quiet country lanes, ideal for exploration by bike. The Suffolk villages of Kersey, Lavenham – with its stunning guildhall and church - and Boxford are less than ten miles from site.

Constable country, including Flatford Mill and Dedham, is within driving distance, as is Long Melford – home to a number of antique shops and the location for TV’s Lovejoy.

Polstead CS was conveniently located for visiting some beautiful villages in Suffolk and their local markets which offered a wide range of local produce. Once out and about, with lovely weather during our stay, the scenery was lovely and peaceful with some great cafe's for a 'cuppa'. The campsite 'wifi' which is owned by the owners, was intermittent during our stay, however, they ask for a donation at the end of your stay if you feel inclined, which helps with the upkeep of flower beds etc. All in all I would recommend the Campsite at Polstead.

Second visit to Polstead with its individual bays especially on hardstandings.Booked in for two but managed to add an additional night.Road closures made a slightly fraught journey but these seem to have reverted back to normal route on return journey home.Cock Inn recommended in village typical old fashioned country pub.Plenty of attractive villages and towns within 10-15 miles.

Have just spent a wonderful weekend at this site, our first experience of a caravan & camping club site. When we arrived we didn't have to find someone they came straight out to meet us & took us to our pitch. The whole place was so well kept, the showers were fantastic, couldn't even see a single cobweb have never been to a campsite with such clean showers before, there were 3 showers in both the ladies & mens as well as a huge family/disabled wet room. The showers were lovely the only critism I have is make sure you get in there early before the heating comes on, the first morning we were up very early & the shower was great but we were a bit later the second morning & it was like a sauna, which was fine while I was in the shower but trying to get dry & dressed in such a hot room felt like I needed another shower by the time I finished. There was free wifi the weekly password was on reception door, unfortunately it didn't reach to where we were which was very disappointing I think if we had been near to reception then we would have picked it up. There was a small park for children - wooden equipment but apart from that this is not a site I would take my kids to, it would be fine if you have little ones but older ones would be bored. There was a pub 5 mins down the road which was fantastic, this is a must for food. We visited lavenham which was a lovely village, great shops, must visit the bear shop the whole upstairs is full of Charlie bears & steiff bears. Didn't like Sudbury, bit dirty not great shops. Long melford was a nice village lady Jane department store was like a tardis looked tiny outside but was huge, had lovely things & some designer brands also a lovely shop with christmas decorations. Kentwell hall was unfortunately closed but visited melford hall, definitely worth a visit lots of Beatrix potter connections but don't bother with the cafe. This was a lovely relaxing weekend, highly recommend this site.
