Enjoy the thrills of Alton Towers and beautiful Peak District from this Club Site.

The Peak District National Park is right on the doorstep of our Alton, The Star Club campsite. This attractive, well maintained family-friendly site is perfectly placed for Alton Towers theme park – just a mile from site. Similarly those who enjoy heading off into the great outdoors will not be disappointed with some great walking country right on the doorstep.

A bus stop right outside the site will deliver you to Alton Towers and its host of family attractions, ranging from adrenaline-fuelled roller coasters through to gentler rides for little ones, in minutes.

Carsington Water and Visitor Centre, north east of the campsite, offers a wide range of activities for all the family on and off the water including miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore, a children’s play area, fishing and many water sports.

While Stoke-on-Trent may not be an obvious tourist destination you can see the Anglo-Saxon treasures of The Staffordshire Hoard at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery here. There’s also the Wedgewood Visitor Centre full of artefacts, some dating back to Josiah Wedgewood – the man who started the pottery industry as we know it today.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite.

Self-catering accommodation is available at this campsite.

Worth Noting

Some grass pitches are sloping, levellers are required. Caravan Holiday Homes are available for purchase and hire.

This site was a great find.

This review is for Alton, The Star

This site was a great find. We visited to meet up with family to visit Alton Towers which is just a mile away. We also used the Alton Towers Splash Park, another day's entertainment that we would highly recommend. The site itself is very well kept with ample facilities and the staff are very welcoming and friendly. We particularly appreciated the family wash rooms which enabled 3 grandchildren to have a bath together. On our first night we had dinner an a local pub, a very short walk away. Great food, cask beer and wine at very reasonable prices. The shops of Cheadle are just 4 miles away so stocking up on groceries is not a problem. There are lots of attractions close to the site and opportunities for walking, cycling etc in the area. We will return to do some of this when we are on our own and not restricted to Alton Towers by family! One of the best sites we have stayed in and glad we have joined the Camping and Caravan club.

1 mile from Alton Towers. Walking distance to pub (a bit on the dear side) 3 miles to fetch a paper. 5 miles to Asda and Morrisons. Ideal spot for the potteries and the Peak District.

This review is for Alton, The Star

As merlin annual pass holders, we wanted to use the location to take advantage of 2 days at Alton towers. Saturday was no problem but when we asked how much extra it is for a late checkout, we were told this is not practical as there is nowhere to keep the caravan for a couple of hours. This is despite the site being far from full! A total waste of staying at this site and will not stay here again. Will not recommend to our fellow merlin pass holders as defeats the object of stopping here for us.

“A group of friends and myself stayed at this site for 3 nights in June 2012. The site were brilliant and accommodating with our requests. The wardens were really friendly and chatty. The self catering caravan we stayed in was immaculate and even blankets were in the wardrobes which was good as the evenings were a little chilly. No complaints about the 'van and within 5 mins drive of Alton Towers (our main reason for the choice of site) As with any other club site, I would not hesitate in recommending this site or returning, I'm already planning a return trip next year!”

The Club's eight holiday caravans are just one mile away from the theme park, meaning the whole family can enjoy a great value break!
