Enjoy the thrills of Alton Towers and beautiful Peak District from this Club Site.

The Peak District National Park is right on the doorstep of our Alton, The Star Club campsite. This attractive, well maintained family-friendly site is perfectly placed for Alton Towers theme park – just a mile from site. Similarly those who enjoy heading off into the great outdoors will not be disappointed with some great walking country right on the doorstep.

A bus stop right outside the site will deliver you to Alton Towers and its host of family attractions, ranging from adrenaline-fuelled roller coasters through to gentler rides for little ones, in minutes.

Carsington Water and Visitor Centre, north east of the campsite, offers a wide range of activities for all the family on and off the water including miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore, a children’s play area, fishing and many water sports.

While Stoke-on-Trent may not be an obvious tourist destination you can see the Anglo-Saxon treasures of The Staffordshire Hoard at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery here. There’s also the Wedgewood Visitor Centre full of artefacts, some dating back to Josiah Wedgewood – the man who started the pottery industry as we know it today.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite.

Self-catering accommodation is available at this campsite.

I am on crutches at the moment and had flagged this up at booking.

This review is for Alton, The Star

I am on crutches at the moment and had flagged this up at booking. We had the perfect pitch near the toilet block and play area. Everything was clean and tidy. There is a pub in easy walking distance but we drove (bit far for crutching in the rain) to the Cross Inn where dogs and children were welcome. We had a good meal but did notice it got very busy after 7pm and several folk were turned away. All in all a great experience.

Toilets were spotless regardless of time of day, two toilet blocks so one was always open during cleaning times. Site it self was excellently well presented, pitches seemed larger than normal. Children's play area was fantastic. Family room even had a bath!! Wifi signal was perfect. Plenty of water and waste points. The site is called Alton the Starr and in our eyes it certainly is a star and so are the staff. We will most certainly be returning.

“A group of friends and myself stayed at this site for 3 nights in June 2012. The site were brilliant and accommodating with our requests. The wardens were really friendly and chatty. The self catering caravan we stayed in was immaculate and even blankets were in the wardrobes which was good as the evenings were a little chilly. No complaints about the 'van and within 5 mins drive of Alton Towers (our main reason for the choice of site) As with any other club site, I would not hesitate in recommending this site or returning, I'm already planning a return trip next year!”
