Enjoy the thrills of Alton Towers and beautiful Peak District from this Club Site.

The Peak District National Park is right on the doorstep of our Alton, The Star Club campsite. This attractive, well maintained family-friendly site is perfectly placed for Alton Towers theme park – just a mile from site. Similarly those who enjoy heading off into the great outdoors will not be disappointed with some great walking country right on the doorstep.

A bus stop right outside the site will deliver you to Alton Towers and its host of family attractions, ranging from adrenaline-fuelled roller coasters through to gentler rides for little ones, in minutes.

Carsington Water and Visitor Centre, north east of the campsite, offers a wide range of activities for all the family on and off the water including miles of footpaths and bridleways to explore, a children’s play area, fishing and many water sports.

While Stoke-on-Trent may not be an obvious tourist destination you can see the Anglo-Saxon treasures of The Staffordshire Hoard at The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery here. There’s also the Wedgewood Visitor Centre full of artefacts, some dating back to Josiah Wedgewood – the man who started the pottery industry as we know it today.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite.

Self-catering accommodation is available at this campsite.

Had a great bank Holiday weekend on this site, my self and the wife just chilled out around the caravan with a little walk to the local pub for lunch and a couple of local ales at, Ye Old Star In, five minuets walk from the site, good food and service and good local ales, the children and there friends on the other hand took them self of to Alton Towers all weekend just a mile down the road with a local bus service a few hundred yards away, Nice relaxing site with large play area for the younger generation, clean, tidy, friendly with every thing you need as you would expect from a club site, the site is slopping so do take leveling chokes just in case, i had no problems so over all a great weekend had by us all, Many Thanks and will be visiting again in the near future,

We stayed here in our caravan for a trip to Alton towers. Location is excellent Site is clean. Good for kids We paid for a hard standing which I'd say was worthwhile as some of the grass pitches were on quite a slope. This would of put our door too high for the step for my little one to climb in and out of. It's a site we will use again :)

We booked to stay here so we could visit Alton Towers theme park.

This review is for Alton, The Star

We booked to stay here so we could visit Alton Towers theme park. It is only a 5 minute drive and very easy to get to. We had a pitch which overlooked the play area which was just perfect for us. It's a very large play area, with a good variety of well maintained play equipment. The facilities were clean. The only improvements that could have been made would be having shower curtains to prevent the spray from the shower from splashing clothes etc and opening the indoor dishwashing facilities during inclement weather - the main dishwashing facilities are undercover but outside, but the weather during the weekend we stayed made washing up a chilly venture - still, it's all part of the camping experience, isn't it? Watch out when finding the site, the sat nav wants to take you down a countrylane to your destination, but a local resident has kindly put a sign telling you to ignore the sat nav and carry on- we should have listened to the sign and ignored the sat nav - but nevertheless we found it shortly afterwards. Overall, a very pleasant stay. Would definitely return.

“A group of friends and myself stayed at this site for 3 nights in June 2012. The site were brilliant and accommodating with our requests. The wardens were really friendly and chatty. The self catering caravan we stayed in was immaculate and even blankets were in the wardrobes which was good as the evenings were a little chilly. No complaints about the 'van and within 5 mins drive of Alton Towers (our main reason for the choice of site) As with any other club site, I would not hesitate in recommending this site or returning, I'm already planning a return trip next year!”
