Tranquillity close to the heart of England on a campsite in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

This Club campsite sits on the edge of one the Midlands’ most popular beauty spots, Cannock Chase. A combination of natural deciduous woodland, coniferous plantations and open heathland the Chase – England’s smallest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – offers boundless adventure and fun for walkers, mountain bikers and dog lovers alike and is perfectly located for exploring the attractions of Cannock, Lichfield, Birmingham and the surrounding area.

Our pretty campsite here is well laid out and bordered by trees. It offers level hardstanding pitches, while grass pitches tend to be sloping. In addition to showers and toilets, the site offers washing up facilities, a site shop offering basic provisions and a family room and there is direct access from the site onto the Chase.

The Chase is definitely the big appeal of this site. As well as its bountiful wildlife, it offers endless walking and miles of exhilarating mountain bike trails, including the famous Follow the Dog trail and new Monkey Trail, which start from Birches Valley Forest Centre.

If you'd like to go glamping then Cannock Chase Ready Camp is the perfect choice. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Some pitches are sloping so chocks will be required, and all grass pitches are sloping. Poor TV and mobile reception on site. New play area for children and new bike wash – perfect for use after cycling the trails

The first C&CC site we have used though have used a CS site before and were pleased with teh whole experience. A very friendly and helpful welcome. Plenty of space between pitches unlike other sites we have used were they cram as many pitches in as they can. While there is a reasonably busy road it's not that noisy though I dare say if you are pitched on the perimeter edge by the road the noise would be louder. For us there was more noise coming from the childrens play area. We are tent campers and it seemed like a lot of the grass pitches are on slopes. Most are pretty gentle so not a big problem. The office is closed while the staff go about the daily cleaning routines and the 'shop' is located in the office so not accessible during these hours. The facilities are very modern, very clean in fact, probably the best I've encountered in the years I've been camping. There isn't any mobile network signals on the campsite itself but a short walk into the wooded area at the back of the site or across the road into the wooded area there you can pick up a 4G signal so not really a deal breaker. I've holidayed in areas where you could only pick up a signal 10 minutes walk away and I personally couldn't care if there is no signal. I go camping to get away from TV and telephones. If all the other C&CC sites are like this one then we are in for some enjoyable camping breaks.

Site appears to be in a black hole. No reception even for my Kindle to read my news paper.

Site appears to be in a black hole. No reception even for my Kindle to read my news paper. No mobile service on any provider. It is a nice site, lovely facilities. I would have preferred a flat area like the hardstanding next to where I was on the grass. It would not take much to terrace certain areas. I am sorry this sounds negative and all the points are mentioned in the site details. This is my first visit to a C& C site and it will not put me off. Places to visit Lichfield and the National Arboretum just to name two.

On arrival the staff were very friendly and accommodating, the site was very clean and well looked after. The children's play area is in the shade all day long and also was very clean. It is In a perfect location to go biking and walking with only a 5 minute drive to Birches Valley where there is go ape, segway and much more. We will definitely be returning.

We could only stay one night at Cannock Chase site though we would love to have stayed longer. The welcome on arrival was very friendly and helpful. We had a choice of a number of pitches and we're able to chose a lovely location, bathed in the afternoon sunshine. The facilities were excellent. Campervan facilities eg water etc were centrally located. We managed to visit a few of Cannock Chases areas on our short visit. We will return on a future visit and enjoy some more exploring.
