Tranquillity close to the heart of England on a campsite in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

This Club campsite sits on the edge of one the Midlands’ most popular beauty spots, Cannock Chase. A combination of natural deciduous woodland, coniferous plantations and open heathland the Chase – England’s smallest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – offers boundless adventure and fun for walkers, mountain bikers and dog lovers alike and is perfectly located for exploring the attractions of Cannock, Lichfield, Birmingham and the surrounding area.

Our pretty campsite here is well laid out and bordered by trees. It offers level hardstanding pitches, while grass pitches tend to be sloping. In addition to showers and toilets, the site offers washing up facilities, a site shop offering basic provisions and a family room and there is direct access from the site onto the Chase.

The Chase is definitely the big appeal of this site. As well as its bountiful wildlife, it offers endless walking and miles of exhilarating mountain bike trails, including the famous Follow the Dog trail and new Monkey Trail, which start from Birches Valley Forest Centre.

Worth Noting

Some pitches are sloping so chocks will be required, and all grass pitches are sloping. Poor TV and mobile reception on site. New play area for children and new bike wash – perfect for use after cycling the trails

Such a shame that a lovely site is let down by over officious gentleman staff member.

Such a shame that a lovely site is let down by over officious gentleman staff member. On three occasions (over 2 seperate stays) now he has unnecessarily intervened with our stays in order to strictly implement the RULES. Just to give you an idea, the worst and most recent instance was on our departure day when we were told at 12:14 we had to pack up and move as the rules state you must leave by 12. It was a Monday and there were only a few caravans remaining on the site. We were however told we must wake up our baby and move just in case the 2 arrivals due for the day needed our spot rather than the other 20 plus already vacated! The other two instances I won't go into detail but one involved my father having to move his car (again on a practially deserted site) to the visitors area and the other was an order to move our car that was infringing the '6 metre' rule by my estimate by about 30cm. You get the idea! Anyway all in all a lovely site in spite of this continued annoyance, just go prepared and don't infringe the RULES even if you think the site is deserted.

Only spent 2 nights this week but will definitely return.

Only spent 2 nights this week but will definitely return. The toilets and showers were spotless, the dish washing facilities although not used by us also appeared to be spotless. What a great place if you have dogs, direct access to the forest 20 sq miles of it! The childrens' play area, again not used by us looked extremely inviting. The site is very secluded and terraced surrounded by trees and is a real credit to the hard working wardens who run the site. I would say that this site should be used as an example to other club sites! My only problem with recommending it is that it might be full when we next return. Well done Carol and Greg.

Rang last minute for a cycling break with friends.

Rang last minute for a cycling break with friends. From booking to arrival and our stay the warden could not have been more helpful, accommodating and friendly. She is a credit to this nice site. For dog walkers and cyclists the forest is right on the doorstep with bike trails leading directly from the site. Nice big pitch where we enjoyed a bbq later
