Tranquillity close to the heart of England on a campsite in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

This Club campsite sits on the edge of one the Midlands’ most popular beauty spots, Cannock Chase. A combination of natural deciduous woodland, coniferous plantations and open heathland the Chase – England’s smallest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – offers boundless adventure and fun for walkers, mountain bikers and dog lovers alike and is perfectly located for exploring the attractions of Cannock, Lichfield, Birmingham and the surrounding area.

Our pretty campsite here is well laid out and bordered by trees. It offers level hardstanding pitches, while grass pitches tend to be sloping. In addition to showers and toilets, the site offers washing up facilities, a site shop offering basic provisions and a family room and there is direct access from the site onto the Chase.

The Chase is definitely the big appeal of this site. As well as its bountiful wildlife, it offers endless walking and miles of exhilarating mountain bike trails, including the famous Follow the Dog trail and new Monkey Trail, which start from Birches Valley Forest Centre.

Worth Noting

Some pitches are sloping so chocks will be required, and all grass pitches are sloping. Poor TV and mobile reception on site. New play area for children and new bike wash – perfect for use after cycling the trails

It was a pleasure to be here.

It was a pleasure to be here. Site Management team had time to chat with campers and caravanners alike. Just as the CCC is known for. Othyer clubs could well learn the lesson, eh? Facilities are a little "tired" (hence only 4*'s) - but very clean and tidy. I found it a bit unusual to see the bins were located at the entrance to the site - but hey, I'm just being picky!! My dog and I walked well over 50 miles and still didn't cover the whole of the Chase. It really is huge. Local pubs are good and dog friendly. I visited the Park Gate and the Chetwyn Arms and had a really enjoyable bar snack meal at each pub. The"Go Ape" area of the Chase is well worth a visit. There really is lots to do and many ways to scare the wotsit out of you if you are so inclined. BUT beware the cafe. Coffee and Ice Cream is OK but the toasted sarnies and panini's are seriously average. Soggy and poorly filled.
