Tranquillity close to the heart of England on a campsite in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

This Club campsite sits on the edge of one the Midlands’ most popular beauty spots, Cannock Chase. A combination of natural deciduous woodland, coniferous plantations and open heathland the Chase – England’s smallest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – offers boundless adventure and fun for walkers, mountain bikers and dog lovers alike and is perfectly located for exploring the attractions of Cannock, Lichfield, Birmingham and the surrounding area.

Our pretty campsite here is well laid out and bordered by trees. It offers level hardstanding pitches, while grass pitches tend to be sloping. In addition to showers and toilets, the site offers washing up facilities, a site shop offering basic provisions and a family room and there is direct access from the site onto the Chase.

The Chase is definitely the big appeal of this site. As well as its bountiful wildlife, it offers endless walking and miles of exhilarating mountain bike trails, including the famous Follow the Dog trail and new Monkey Trail, which start from Birches Valley Forest Centre.

If you'd like to go glamping then Cannock Chase Ready Camp is the perfect choice. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Worth Noting

Some pitches are sloping so chocks will be required, and all grass pitches are sloping. Poor TV and mobile reception on site. New play area for children and new bike wash – perfect for use after cycling the trails

Used site for cycling. Great tracks from site and a couple miles from Cannock Chase visitor Centre where there are different trails available to ride or walk for all ages. A great day or two out. Will without doubt go to site again as had a really good feel about it and lots of biking to do.

On arrival at the site we were greeted by the assistant wardens who made one of our party wait behind the barrier as we had only booked one car and caravan in, the other car wasn't staying just dropping tent off for the rest of our party then leaving. The tone in which they spoke to us was quite rude and matter of fact, in my opinion the wardens are the face of your company and should always be welcoming no matter what type of day they are having. When siting the tent all pitches were sloping, even though there were more level pitches near by. There is no phone signal and when we went to buy wifi we were told to go online to buy it as it would be better as the code we were given might not work anyway! (We needed wifi to go online) I have nothing against children playing but a little camping etiquette would be nice as they were running in between our cars and tent and caravan squirting water pistols. As there are glamping tents on the site we asked the warden if it would be possible to have a look in one of then as we were interested in hiring one, the warden just said "No!!" The shower blocks are very clean and warm, however, when taking a shower the floor floods and there is only one hook to hang your clothes. There is a fold down seat in the cubicle but it takes up most of the space when drying off. To top off the few days we had spent at the site we were rudely awoken at 7am by the very noisy bin men and wagon, I understand that refuse has to be collected but a little thought that people may still be sleeping while on holiday should be taken into consideration. So due to all the above issues unfortunately I will not be returning to this site in the future.

Father and young daughter travelling from the west country to Scotland, camping in a family tent. This was a perfect 2 night stop off along our route. Great welcome when we arrived and lucky to get a level terraced pitch. In the very wet weather, the pitch was well drained. The local area was great for cycling and exploring. Toilet and shower block were very good and the family room was brilliant as my daughter is not quite old enough to shower alone. Some noise from dogs but seemed quiet at night. Would visit again.

Lovely location for walking/cycling.

This review is for Cannock Chase

Lovely location for walking/cycling. We did a circular walk via the Birches Valley Visitor centre as per the info sheet which we bought on site. Toilet block was spotless and nice and warm. Kids loved the play area, and as it's a fairly small site, we could see them from our pitch. I would take earplugs if you are in a tent. The road is noisy at night. Seems to be a magnet for boy racers and motorbikes. The adjacent house also has very noisy dogs which woke us up in the middle of the night. The setting is beautiful though, and it's a very well maintained site.
