Overview

  • A popular site for families

    Great site for families

A theme park, the nearby snow dome and National Forest make this a popular family site.

One of the country’s top theme parks and zoo is located right next door to this Club Site in the Midlands. Our site at Drayton Manor is ideal for families who want to make the most of the popular attraction. Similarly, those wanting a base to explore the area’s other attractions – how about Cadbury World, the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas, National Forest or Tamworth with its castle and Snow Dome - would be equally at home at here too.

The open and slightly sloping campsite in a peaceful location has 90 pitches, a large facilities block and washing up area, well-run shop and children’s play area. But its biggest appeal is its proximity to the theme park.

There is no shortage of thrills and spills at Drayton Manor with rides to suit everyone from the thrilling white knuckle Maelstrom and Apocalypse to the more sedate traditional carousel ride and Thomas Land attraction with 12 wonderful Thomas-themed rides and indoor play area.

Ready Camp is available at this campsite.

Easy to find: follow the Drayton Manor Theme Park signs and drive past the front of the Drayton Manor Hotel following the Camping and Caravan Club signs. Greeted by friendly and informative staff, then given a choice of pitch (near rally field away from the facilities, mid way or next to play park and facilities). Our seven year old daughter heard this and told us we were parking next to the play park so that's where we ended up! We had a level pitch which was perfect. Needed all 25m of the electric hook up but that wasn't a problem for us - the warden did offer an extension lead if ours didn't reach which was nice. Daughter has given the play park a thumbs up. Facilities were very clean and obviously well looked after. Shower cubicles had plenty of room. Good water pressure and no problem with the electric. Asked for recommendations for food (takeaway and sit-down) and was given two excellent suggestions (we tried both The Grille Inn - which is part of but outside of the Theme Park - and The Spice Indian Takeaway which delivered to the campsite barrier!). If the Grille Inn is booked up be aware that the Hotel Restaurants are expensive even with the discount card! Although the campsite is next to the Drayton Manor Theme Park (which is a must if you have kids - less than 2 minutes walk to the entrance!) other attractions include Tamworth Castle (10 minute drive) and The National Space Centre if you fancy a 50 minute drive (worth it!). Only downside we encountered was the stones / bricks under the grass - take rock pegs with you. We will be going back there at some stage.

This was our last camping adventure, because we are immigrating to New Zealand.

This was our last camping adventure, because we are immigrating to New Zealand. From the time we turned up the staff were very pleased to see you (which I have to say this doesn't always happen). They were very friendly, took there time to show you around the camp site and also included our three children into the conversation ! The shower block was amazing ! Lots of room in the shower cubicles and very powerful shower outlets. The kids had an amazing time as well, with a nice play area and field nearby to play lots of ball games. This site was right next door to Drayton Manor Theme park, which worked very well for us. It made a change for us, with the whole issue with theme parks, because you can never really enjoy them, because of the travalling issues. It took us 5 minutes to walk from the camp site to the park, so we could spend much more time there. Overall this was an amazing camp site, with the most amazing friendly staff you will ever meet. Keep up the great work Regards Mr & Mrs Edwards x

Stunning campsite and very spacious. Holds many people but the facilities can handle it.

Stunning campsite and very spacious. Holds many people but the facilities can handle it. Good for all types of units and very reasonable costs. Only had two issues. We wanted two pitches next to each other and tge wardens could not manage it, even though the day after more people arrived around us. We also suffered wardens pestering us about our bbq even though we followed their regulations to the letter. Despite warden madness, this is a good site for families and I would stay again if I wanted to visit the theme parks and other attractions.
