Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

An established family run site we are looking to continually improve the visitor experience. We are grateful for the patience of our patrons during 2015 as work to provide the new toilet/shower block progressed. Fully opened in March 2016 and provides 6 toilets; 4 showers; (including family room with shower, toilet and washbasin); separate washbasins; indoor and outdoor (under cover) dish washing facilities; fridge; and freezer. 2016’s work will focus on landscaping around the shower block and levelling a section of the field, providing more camping area. Winter will see us spending time on the hard-standing areas. What we cannot improve are the views. The almost 360° views over the Biddulph Valley, Stoke-on-Trent, Peak District, Cheshire Plain to Wales, Greater Manchester and Merseyside are spectacular, both day and night - worth a stay on their own! Excellent transport links – rail Kidsgrove and Congleton; road A34, A50, A500, M6 – make the campsite an ideal base for visiting local attractions – National Trust in Biddulph, Congleton, and Mow Cop; pottery museums in Stoke –on –Trent; Joderell Bank; to name a few. Also an outstanding location for walkers, with numerous footpaths close by, in particular the South Cheshire Way, Staffordshire Way and Gritstone Trail.

Amazing view Morning and Night This is a really nice site in a great location. The owners are very friendly and helpful. The site has a superb toilet and shower block and sinks undercover with plenty of hot water for pot washing.5 hard standings for Caravans / Motorhomes all with hook ups.And camping pitches with hook ups The views are wonderful dependant on the weather of course. The Castle Ruins are worth a visit and lots of walks nearby. The nearest Public house is about 300 yds away but it only opens Friday night, Saturday and Sunday all day. Another pub is not too far away serving real ales A village shop for papers etc is just a bit further down the road.

I first visited in Aug 2016. Spent approx 25 nights there since. Superb toilets and showers. Great views. Good local walks and pub at w.ends The site is by a country lane, and does get busy. However do not let this put you off. The toilet and shower set up is first class, very clean, loads of quality toilet paper. Hand towels and face towels and soaps in each cubicle, a lovely touch. Loads of hot water to shower etc. Washing up facilities just as good. The views are stunning, especially from Castle ruins about 400 yds away. See how many counties you count, ( at least 12). Grey and toilet waste available as well as usual rubbish disposal. Water pressure good too. Owners are laid back, friendly and helpful. A lot of recent expense and toil has gone into this CS. I will return again maybe when weather is warmer. Access is easier by J 16 of M6 but the last two miles from Biddulph is via narrow lanes and uphill. If you come from the north side, any long units will have to go past site and turn round for easy access, nonetheless give this site a go. You may well enjoy it as much as I have. If this site had a carp pond, for me, I would then have found heaven in Staffirdshire.

What a lovely place! Small and quiet but has all you need - electric hookup, water, and 5 star...

What a lovely place! Small and quiet but has all you need - electric hookup, water, and 5 star showers/toilets that would put some hotels to shame. Has the most amazing views, day and night...have never seen so many stars! Really warm welcome, the owners were friendly and helpful and very laid back. Great walks up to Mow Cop Castle and the Gristone trail. Both pubs were shut the second night of our stay, but no need to give in and do some cooking, the local Chinese takeaway delivered to the site and it was delicious. You're at the top of Mow Cop so lots of hills to climb when you're out walking, keep in mind if you have dodgy knees like me! A great area for serious cyclists, the hubby is planning to come back with his bike. Would definitely recommend this little gem.
