Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). A small campsite that accepts just five caravans or motorhomes. Some of these CS’s accept tents, space permitting. CSs are often quieter, smaller places to camp, with many offering minimal facilities – ideal for when you want to get away from it all.

We visited the last weekend in July with our two young children.

We visited the last weekend in July with our two young children. We were delighted with the price £8 per night for a tent no electric hook up; children under 10 are not charged for. The toilets and showers were in a temporary building but were very clean and well maintained. There was plenty going on in the equestrian centre so plenty of horses to point at and sheep and cows in near by fields. We also observed some stoats playing in the field, which was delightful. There is a cafe on site, which we didn't go to but looked lovely. Nearby Leek is a lovely market town with lots of gift shops and cafes. There is a nature reserve just down the road from the campsite and a steam train that runs from the other side of Leek.

Friendly and helpful owners and Skip was always cheerful, site is cleen and peaceful, hardstandings overlooking paddocks and hills. Wildlife on site hares, curlews, hestrel and barn owl. July 2012 was the wettest on record but on this aite it was not a problem. If you want a lazy day there are often equestrian events to watch, cafe open on site. A very good farm butchers at Ipstone, loads of places to visit whatever the weather.

The site is clean and well maintained.

The site is clean and well maintained. 5 hard standing pitches with electric hookups and shared water supply. Nothing was too much trouble for the site owners. We used the site since it was close to Alton Towers - easily reached in approximately 10 minutes. The town of Leek is approximately 5 minutes drive and has a good selection of local stores and national chains. We will definitely use the site again.

My wife,3 teenage children and myself were spending days at Alton Towers & needed accommodation. All the hotels & guest houses were too expensive, So I came on here and contacted several campsites which were either pricey or not suitable for what we required, until I contacted Beaverhall. Upon arrival We were greeted by the managers father who directed me to the manager(Dave) He was friendly and upon payment for 2 nights tenting with EH Dave proceeded to tell us about the site and where we could camp. We were the only campers on the field and were free to pitch anywhere. Dave's father also loaned us an extension cable as our hook up cable was not long enough. The 1st problem we had was our pre cooked dinner that we brought was still frozen and Dave kindly offered to defrost it FREE of charge. Dave also kindly let us use his cafeteria kitchen to wash our plates & cutlery.Although the toilet was cold the shower was hot. On the second day when we got back from a fun filled day at Alton Towers we were again allowed to use their kitchen facilities. We forgot to bring hot chocolate for the kids so Dave kindly gave us some. On departure day there was no rush for us to leave the site and Dave even took our rubbish. I thanked him for his hospitality. I would recommend this small camp site and defiantly come back again. Thankyou.
