Overview

This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.

We are a small farm, 85 acres, 200 sheep and 120 beef cattle, pigs and horses. 10mins from J22 M5, our 2.5 acre site is nestled in a quiet spot with fantastic views. There is a footpath to the top of the Mendip Hills, the river Axe for fishing and canoeing, and a fishing lake next door (£10 day ticket). We sell our own farm reared pork sausages and free range eggs. Separate ladies and gents toilets, power shower, hook ups and hard standing. Dogs welcome. Families and couples only. No large groups. No noise policy between 11pm and 7am. The excellent Lamb PH is a 5 minute walk. Weston Super Mare and Burnham on sea are just 20mins drive. Cheddar’s scenic Gorge and Caves, shops and a large Sunday morning boot sale 10mins drive. Wookey Hole Caves, the Cathedral City of Wells, and Glastonbury Tor and Abbey Ruins.

Owners can not do enough for you ( moved Rams out of field so our dogs had bigger field to exercise, many thanks ), so helpful, walks are great did about 20 miles in 2 1/2 days, fire pits to rent nice touch, farm made sausages and fresh egg for sale yum, and for the fishermen the fishery next door to the site great fishing, some big fish, fantastic sport, all this and a pub only 500 yards away, if in that area we will stay again. Thanks for a lovely stay.

Lovely campsite. Great views of the Mendip Hills.

This review is for Watersmeet Farm

Lovely campsite. Great views of the Mendip Hills. Very safe for children to run about and plenty of space for ball games etc. Bad points by the time you added on the extras it turned quite costly per night. £16 a night then an extra £2 per child. Bag of logs £6 with fire lighter. 20p for 2 minutes in the shower. It all mounts up. The sausages Kathryn supplies were pricey but well worth the money and were delicious. The only other let down was their is no hand soap in the bathroom ever. I felt for the money per night a cheap bottle of hand soap wasn't much to ask for. Although the bathrooms were cleaned everyday which was nice. Kathryn was really welcoming though and just more or less left us alone but she was great with advice on where to go etc. There was also lots of information posters up about local amenities. All in all a nice site.

Lovely Picturesque Site Booked a weekend at the last minute, never used this site before we usually sus out sites before we use them but we were not disappointed. We were told where to pitch when we booked, due to the recent wet weather we were told to pitch on the hard standing. We were met later by Kathryn and asked if everything was ok and were left alone and not bothered again. The site was very wet due to the recent bad weather, this will not stop us using this site again as we were made to feel very welcome. It has very easy access from the main road and a good level grass area for caravans and tents. Cant wait for the summer months, it must be a gem of a site on warm balmy nights sitting out with friends. We will definitely use on many occasions.

This site is situated at the foot of the mendip hills with superb views.

This site is situated at the foot of the mendip hills with superb views. The site has easy access from the main road and is extremely well maintained with level ground. The toilet facilities are basic but always clean and for 2 x 20p you can have a lovely hot shower. We found this a great base for exploring the local area. Kathryn was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The children enjoyed the freedom to run and explore. They were invited by Kathryn to feed the new born lambs, which they thoroughly enjoyed. The evenings were spent round a firepit, toasting marshmallows and gazing up into the stars (with the odd glass of wine of course !). The firepit was provided by Kathyrn and the logs can be bought from the farm. We would highly recommend this site as either an overnight stop off or a long break. We will definitely return again.
