Where Shropshire meets Wales

Enjoy our peaceful, family run site set in the rolling pasturelands of Shropshire providing you with an excellent base from which to explore the area by car, foot, cycle or public transport.

The north loop of the Shropshire Way covering 297 miles of stunning countryside with extensive views of hills and plains was completed in 2013 and passes within one mile of the site. Walkers and cyclists can also enjoy way-marked trails in Nesscliffe Country Park.

There are two World Heritage Sites within easy reach; Ironbridge Gorge and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and you can also visit the stunning Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfalls, four National Trust properties and five Heritage Railways.

Nearby attractions with something for all the family include Park Hall Countryside Experience, Whittington Castle, Acton Scott, Wroxeter, Lake Vyrnwy, Ellesmere and RAF Museum, Cosford.

Food, Flower, Music, Walking & Literary Festivals take place throughout the year at Oswestry, Shrewsbury & Llangollen.

Our new social room “The Barn” was built in 2013 and regular events are held throughout the year including the Site Birthday Party in August and New Year celebrations, Bingo, Quiz and Games Nights.

This COULD be a lovely site - however it is run by some staff who seem to resent paying customers and treat them in a most unprofessional manner. The flower beds MAY have had flowers in them at some time - but not now. The pitches MAY have been numbered/marked, weed free and well maintained in the past - they are not now. The toilet blocks MAY have been immaculately clean and well maintained in the past - but not now. (Just look behind the doors in the Gents and see the cobwebs) We have had caravans and motorhomes for the last 40 years - this is the worst value for money site we have even encountered. For 18,35 a night off peak, we expect proper hard standings, not 4" of gravel on top of earth! On the plus side there is a bus stop outside going to Oswestry and Shrewsbury. There is also an on-site Barn, useful if you are a club looking for a rally site with a meeting place. (Incidentally, although we were told when we booked that we could use the electrical equipment in the Barn free, on the day we found that we were expected to make a "donation" to the bizarrely named "Flower Fund" - presumably to buy more daisies, buttercups and dandelions, as these were the only flowers in evidence there.) Also don't expect to be able to choose a pitch, even if disabled - we were told in no uncertain terms that "We will site you where we like". Don't let the website photos fool you either - The site does NOT look like that now. In case you are wondering, I am not a grumpy old man, just see my reviews of Plassey, Min-y-Don and Hafan-y-Mor on Trip Advisor. So to summarise -If you don't want to use the service bus or The Barn, stay elsewhere!

Never in 50 yrs of camping and caravanning have we felt the need to drive away before even pitching camp. The warden was so rude inconsiderate and unwelcoming. I couldn't believe my ears the way he was speaking to my husband who was driving. He was so aggressive and disrespectful it was a disgrace. We felt so uncomfortable and unwelcome there was no way we could have stayed. We will not be going again while this man is in charge. Definitely not the friendly club welcome we expect from Caravan and Camping club sites. We moved elsewhere and where we received a better welcome.
