Peaceful and very clean site.

This review is for Oswestry, Cranberry Moss

Peaceful and very clean site. Shower / toilet probably the cleanest of any site we have stayed on. Alan, the warden, walked us to our pitch and even directed our caravan into it. He was one the friendliest wardens we have met on any site. There are loads of interesting places within a short distance of the site including Chester, Llangollen the Pontcysyllte aqueduct, Chirk Castle and many NT properties. A very pleasant site.

We used this site as a two night stopover on the way back from a stay in the Brecon Beacons. Primarily because we wanted to visit Powis Castle in Welshpool. Can't say we were "knocked out" by it. The main plus point for us was the free wi-fi. The warden who guided us to our allocated spot (Peter) was very friendly. The same could not be said about the lady (name unknown) who checked us in and whom I encountered later. No attempt to be welcoming whatsoever. On the morning of our departure I went to the shop to pick up the newspaper I had ordered from the previous day but had forgotten. It was 8.55. The lady arrived to open up and started to drag a display outside. I tried to assist but she just said very loudly "No!" I tried to follow her in but she turned round and actually put the key in the door before having second thoughts. She said "you can come in and wait if you want". I couldn't believe it. By now it was 8.57 and the shop opening time was 9.00. But she was already there! Really!! The site was tidy enough and the toilets were clean but not really large enough (4 showers/WCs) for the size of the site. There were a lot of dog-owners when we were there. I'm not a dog lover, as such, but I don't mind dogs one little bit - except when there's a dog-fight going on outside my van! The site is very handy for anyone using the A5 to get to Wales - it was literally about 100 yards from this main route. All-in-all, it was okay but I don't like to think my presence is not valued (or worse!)
