Where Shropshire meets Wales

Enjoy our peaceful, family run site set in the rolling pasturelands of Shropshire providing you with an excellent base from which to explore the area by car, foot, cycle or public transport.

The north loop of the Shropshire Way covering 297 miles of stunning countryside with extensive views of hills and plains was completed in 2013 and passes within one mile of the site. Walkers and cyclists can also enjoy way-marked trails in Nesscliffe Country Park.

There are two World Heritage Sites within easy reach; Ironbridge Gorge and Pontcysyllte Aqueduct and you can also visit the stunning Pistyll Rhaeadr Waterfalls, four National Trust properties and five Heritage Railways.

Nearby attractions with something for all the family include Park Hall Countryside Experience, Whittington Castle, Acton Scott, Wroxeter, Lake Vyrnwy, Ellesmere and RAF Museum, Cosford.

Food, Flower, Music, Walking & Literary Festivals take place throughout the year at Oswestry, Shrewsbury & Llangollen.

Our new social room “The Barn” was built in 2013 and regular events are held throughout the year including the Site Birthday Party in August and New Year celebrations, Bingo, Quiz and Games Nights.

We have no experience of "club" sites, but this was clean, tidy, well maintained and friendly (from the gentleman warden). We were allowed to choose our plot based on our own criteria. We were shown to our plot and settled in. We were even offered the facility to purchase a morning paper for the following day (Thanks Pete for all your help and warm welcome). There were only two downsides to the stay (only two days/nights). 1. We could not achieve any TV signal despite top of the range TV/aerial/signal booster. This was a big disappointment since as campers for decades (under canvas) our new TV setup was much anticipated. On our departure; The lady warden said TV reception was "usually good" and we should use a signal booster (this despite us saying we already had the best one available). 2. The HELICOPTERS! Perhaps we were unlucky, but day and night at irregular but persistent intervals; came the roar of military helicopters overhead, circling, and obviously training (frequently at low level). Having for years been in camps in the middle of the roar of military equipment, we were hoping to get away from such! There seems to be no mention of this problem elsewhere, but Nesscliff Military Training Ground and Shawbury Military Helicopter Flight School is local and the certain culprits. Be warned, it can sound like an overhead war zone at times. Back to the facilities, The Shower/WC/Motorhome stop off point were all faultless! The lawnmower was active during our stay and the level of detailed care taken was impressive. Apart from the HELICOPTERS, the site is peaceful and very picturesque. We did not venture off-site as this was our "shakedown" trip to iron out the wrinkles with our recently purchased motorhome! Would we visit again? Almost certainly yes, and we would hope that "Pete" is on duty again!

Stopped here for an overnight stop en route to nfol.

This review is for Oswestry, Cranberry Moss

Stopped here for an overnight stop en route to nfol. Nice easy site to find with friendly staff . Nice clean facilities as you would expectfrom a club site. The only down side for us was the road noise at night as it seems to be a busy route for Hgvs all night. It wasnt a real problem for us as only a short stay but I might have been if we had a longer stay
