This review is for Oswestry, Cranberry Moss

We have just returned from one of the best weeks camping we have ever had in our many many years of camping. This was admittedly helped by the outstanding weather. The site is fairly small and well laid out with mostly hard standing pitches but also grass pitches with and without electrics. There has been a lot of work carried out to create terracing to overcome the sloping site. This meant that all pitches are reasonable level. We had a grass pitch with electric for our Camplet trailer tent fairly near the toilet block. In hindsight we may have gone for a pitch further back on the site over looking farm land and away from the road noise. The site is just off the A5 which affords easy access but this is obviously a busy road so the traffic noise was noticeable especially early in the mornings. There are lots of great places to visit in and around the area and we particularly enjoyed The British Iron Works Centre ( just 5minutes drive) with it's wonderful collection of safari animal sculptures and assorted iron work. There are also some birds of prey there and a nice little caf and an indoor display area as well as an area to sit outside but under cover. There is an fine example of the sculptures on the campsite, which is a life sized giraffe by the recreation room. This room is a ovely addition to the facilities and I can see that it would be a lovely place to spend time with other campers in less favorable weather. The only time we used it was when there was a visit from an award winning local cake baker on Thursday morning at 11am her cakes were delicious and it was nice to have coffee and a chat. We also visited the beautiful gardens in Oswestry and also in Shrewsbury. We enjoyed eating out at The Bradford Arms in Knockin and The Old Three Pigeons at Nescliffe both pubs are only 10 minutes drive from the site. We also had fish and chips from the van which comes to site on Friday evenings.

We travelled up the Dee Valley by train and back stopping for coffee on the way. The train in our case was diesel but steam was available on other days. We crossed the Aquaduct by barge with amazing views but you could walk across if you dared! There is lots to see and visit in the area and the countryside is superb. We will definitely be going again. The site also had Free Wifi!

This is our second time at Cranberry Moss.

This review is for Oswestry, Cranberry Moss

This is our second time at Cranberry Moss. It makes me cross when people review it saying it needs TLC. What do people want?? This site is fantastic. Facilities are spotless. Campsite clean and flowers in full bloom, pitches excellent and spacious. Absolutely gorgeous. The Barn is fantastic and really makes this camp the friendliest we've ever been too as all campers get together and have fun and laughter. This wouldn't happen if it wasn't for Gail and Alan who work hard to keep us campers happy. Not many camps put on entertainment like they do here. We love this camp and will be back again very soon. Gail and Alan make you feel very welcome and I can't thank them for such an enjoyable time yet again. Lots of places to visit Shrewsbury is lovely. Some great walks from site also. Lovely quiet and peaceful camp for all ages. Love love love Cranberry Moss. ??
