After a slightly frustrating phone call to book what was apparently the very last pitch for a motorhome which I couldn't then complete fully because their facilities to take my credit card details were down.... the wardens couldn't have been more friendly and helpful when I arrived. Its a beautiful location right on the Loch (shame it rained the whole time I was there!) and there is a great dog walk down by the river which takes you through Luss as well, which is definitely worth a look around. Facilities were adequate but not in the same league as other club sites and toilet/showers were closed for cleaning from 10.30am which seemed a little early. I was travelling by myself so stopping to open and close the gates manually on my way out was a pain as I then had to stop again to drop off the rubbish....! Could do with some improvements but wardens definitely made me welcome.

We've read a few unkind reviews on here that we thought were unfair.

We've read a few unkind reviews on here that we thought were unfair. This is one of the best club sites we've ever been to. The facilities were top notch, and very clean. Rubbish and recycling facilities are by the front gate, which is about a 300 yard walk at an absolute maximum (although anyone with any sense would collect their rubbish and just drop it off on the way out when they leave - problem solved). It's right on the bonnie banks of the loch with beach access. The scenery is spectacular, but being Scotland and being by the water, make sure you bring your midgie repellent. We both look like we've got chicken pox at the moment. Staff were very friendly and very helpful. The club had given us a bit of duff information with regard to being able to bring a car on site, and also the times the gate is closed - but that was the club's fault, not the site's. We saw a lot of young families, a few older people and the odd younger couple. This is one of those sites where everyone you walk past will say hello to you. We were right by the main road, and it was loud but to be frank it only takes about an hour or two before you adapt and stop hearing it. The village of Luss is only a few hundred yards walk, and is definitely worth seeing. Luss has some good facilities, including a post office, two general stores, a good pub and a seafood bar. There is a Co-Op in the nearby town of Balloch (about 10 minutes drive) as well as a farm shop on the main road a couple of miles away that is well worth stopping at for barbecue supplies on your way to the site. We took a boat trip from Luss on our last day. We've resolved to make this one of our regular sites in future.

last 7/8 years + was told it was for health + safety + the orders came from above. I then phoned up the Camping + Caravan Club to be told the no such orders had been given out. I was then told that all the rubbish bins at the I was then told only caravans with "caravan movers" are allowed to face the loch (which not everyone can afford) I then asked why as i have been coming to this beautifull spot at LUSS for the water points had been removed + only bins for BBQ,s were there + you had to take any rubbish you had to the reception area where there was large refuse bins there (a very long walk if you happend to be staying other end of the site). Having spoken to a good few people during my stay not many were happy with these new rules which i,m sure were made up by the new on-site managers....... NOT EVERYONE CAN AFFORD CARAVAN MOVERS !!!!!!!! bit unfair if you ask me
