We stayed for fifteen nights and explored Scotland from our base in Luss. The site is lovely with very helpful staff and the scenery is beautiful too.
The weather was a bit wet but we also had lovely sunny days too. The different weather conditions gave varying aspects to the scenery allowing us to view waterfalls and streams that would not have been seen if the weather had been hot and dry all the time.
There are midges on site but lets be realistic, you are staying on a site next to water - take some repellant with you!
The nearby village of Luss and Tarbet are easy walking, with little beaches to explore along the way which are fantasic. Also, many tea rooms/pubs/restaurants to choose from. The ones we tried were reasonably priced and all food and drinks were delicious.
There are many activities to be tried on Loch Lomond including loch cruises, kayaking, speed boat rides, even a banana boat..........there are also cycle rides, walks etc in the area.
We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday and loved the scenery, the choice to be active or just relax and take it easy was brilliant too.
Scotland is a beautiful country with very welcoming people - thank you all for making our stay so lovely :)

A well set out and comfortable site with lots of lovely views of Loch Lomond.
The nearby village of Luss is a short stroll away and it is possible to book boat trips from the village store.
If you are looking for some gentle cycling with great views then this is the place. A dedicated cycle track runs south around the Loch to Balloch and north to Tarbet.
If visiting in the warmer months do take some insect repellent; the midges are persistent!
