Overview

Wyeside Caravan Park will be refurbished at the end of 2017, opening as a Camping and Caravanning Club Site for the 2018 Season.

If you would like to stay on the current full facility Wyeside Campsite in the beautiful town of Rhayader, call the site directly on 01597 810183.

Situated just outside the market town of Rhayader in Powys - the green heart of Wales – sits our gorgeous new Site which embodies the natural beauty of central Wales. Situated on the banks of the River Wye, this Site is perfect for spending long afternoons enjoying water sports or fishing.

Our campsite on the River Wye offers a tranquil retreat in the beautiful ‘Lakeland of Wales’. By day, see scores of red kites at Gigrin Farm, explore endless hiking and biking trails, or go horse trekking from Rhayader. Walk to Elan Valley to appreciate the spectacular scenery, and spend a relaxing afternoon in Llandrindod Wells - a lovely spa town with great shops and restaurants. Follow the eight-mile Elan Valley Trail to the famous Elan Valley dams, and enjoy fishing, kayaking and watersports galore. By night, look up and experience Elan Valley’s captivating starry skies – a designated International Dark Sky Park.

Wyeside comes equipped with laundry facilities and two shower and toilet blocks - River Wye camping doesn’t come any better than this. The neighbouring Waun Capel Park has a tennis court, all surface basketball/ football pitches and a children’s park. Rhayader town is around a 10 minute walk and has a leisure centre, town museum and plenty of pubs and eateries.

If you'd like to go glamping then Wyeside Ready Camp is the perfect choice. (Please note that, although we welcome dogs on this site, in the interest of all guests we do not permit pets to stay within the Ready Camp tents).

Holiday Homes are available on this site. Please call 024 7647 5328 for more information.

Great location for cycling - a cycle path goes from Rhayader all the way up the valley to the Visitor Centre and along the Elan dams - so only a very small stretch on road. Gilfach Farm Nature Reserve just a short drive up the road- it's a lovely little valley singing with bird life. Lots of choice for eating/drinking in town which is a pleasant stroll down the river to.

Glad we were not on hard standing with electric, as it resembled a car park.

Glad we were not on hard standing with electric, as it resembled a car park. Club had not fully taken over site so amenity block was a little dated. However, everything worked it was clean and had a good tiled non slip floor. Easy walk into Rayader and very central for Elan Valley and mid Wales. As it was May there was a fantastic dawn chorus. There were good dark skies at night too. HOPE THAT THE CLUB DON'T PUT IN LOTS OF CAMPSITE LIGHTS! (let campers bring a torch if they need to see at night). Might be a good idea to warn larger towing units to take care when approaching the crossroads of the A44, coming from the south up the A470..... it is VERY narrow and large lorries have to negotiate the same junction, so hold your breath and take care. Gigrin Farm Kite feeding station nearby about 30minutes walk from site. this tiny town has a small swimming pool to.

Beware- This site is not yet on club pricing (price band 5 must have been used purely as a guide) so may seem expensive to solo travellers (especially age concession members) who normally get an excellent deal. I'll be going back but probably not until next year.
