This is a Certificated Site (CS). These select sites are small, privately run campsites that operates under the Club’s jurisdiction and can only accommodate up to 5 caravans or motorhomes and up to 10 trailer tents or tents, unless express permission has been given by the Club to accommodate more. They range from secluded Hideaways to fully facilitated family friendly sites, and are often found in locations where larger commercial sites are prohibited so you could be camping close to a beach or in the National Park, for example.
The site at Doliago is great for tents as it is on level ground. There is a stream right beside the field and the views make it a most relaxing place to stay. It is the first year the campsite has been open so, for some visitors, the facilities may seem limited. It does have a Ty Bach: toilet which is slightly grander than the one you might have found on a farm in days gone by.
Doliago is a working farm - lambing, dipping, calving and harvesting - there is always a story to tell and on most occasions, were happy to show you around. From the Campsite you can walk straight out onto the open hills of the Cambrian Mountains. The Elan Valley is close by and Rhayader has plenty to offer - places to eat as well as bike hire, galleries, museum and leisure centre.

This review is for Doliago
Doliago Farm is peaceful and quiet, it is ringed by the Cambrian Mountains, close to the beautiful River Wye. A little brook runs behind the camping field and sheep graze peacefully nearby. We came for two nights and stayed for seven and every evening the sunlight on the hills and the dramatic clouds were a sight to see!
Liz, the owner, is friendly and accommodating - we were invited to watch the sheep shearing which took place while we were there. The campsite has been thoughtfully designed, the recycling facility and CDP are neatly tucked away behind a fence next to the 'Ty Bach' - a little wooden shed which has been beautifully decorated on the inside and is equipped with a basin and tap and a chemical toilet.
If you love walking, the 'Llanwrthwl Horseshoe' passes right through the farm, so you can start and finish at the campsite and the nearby Elan Valley reservoirs provide the backdrop for many beautiful walks - ask the very helpful staff at the Elan Valley visitor centre for details. The nearest town, Rhayader, has plenty of interesting little shops and places to eat.
We really enjoyed our stay at Doliago Farm and will be back in the not too distant future!
